I’ve had a vv long busy shift at the residential home I work in. so I’m listening to Carrie underwood and I’m about to make a cup of tea that’s how I cheer myself up. if its not 10pm lol, I go a walk or go for lunch with Fiance or a bit of shopping 🙂

If you don’t want to say and it’s just a general feeling of blah… Sometimes a strenuous workout kickstarts things for me. Seems like it just clears out all the cobwebs and stuff. Usually I like taking classes though like spin classes or kickboxing classes because they make me push through and not just give up. Each track I just try and push my hardest until it’s over. Later I realize I just feel better. haha. Honestly I think getting out and doing something helps the most. If you can go out with some friends for a dinner and drinks and enjoy yourself? Or walk around and shop, if you like shopping? Get in your car, blare some music, go get a milkshake, and drive somewhere nice or interesting or new? Anything like this maybe. haha.
My fiance usually takes me to some nice dinner place if I’ve been down for a few days and stuff just keeps going wrong. He knows good food makes me feel better, but it’s not the same for me unless I go out. I’ll get dressed and put on makeup and it helps me break out of a mental rut, and good food always helps me. But I’m a foodie and I don’t indulge too much. haha. Plus, honestly, the effort coming from his side and his extra-attentiveness/concern really helps me feel better.
Trying to think of something besides the other suggestions…
If you’re wiped out or exhausted and going out sounds terrible and nobody is around, then I’d suggest do something sort of out-of-the-ordinary. Order delivery from somewhere unique, put on some makeup you’ve been wanting to try and answer the door all glammed-up (or totally just in your PJs and casual-like), watch a new but interesting movie or show while you eat, make something you’ve been interested in making… heck, make some cookies. haha.
Or do some cleaning. I know that might sound terrible, but if you have somewhere you’ve been wanting to organize, you feel much more accomplished after it’s done and looks all nice and neat… plus it gets you moving, which really helps make you feel better.
Sorta depends on if you have friends/family/fiance around also?

theatrejulia: Yep, dogs are the cause of my instant smiles.
tagerosan: Daw, so cute!
spideringspider: Oh isn’t that a long story lol. The bad days boils down to work stress and to sum it up taking a risk to move up the ladder (not very far either). All the while it may not even pay off (since I’d have to interview and there’s no mention of how many spots are available but there’s 5 days of interviewing from 8am-4pm and probably a couple hundred applicants). The move at this current time could also burn bridges because I need references from people close to the top of the ladder. So if they say no then working with them in the future would not only be awkward but if I ever did get the position I’m aiming for now and I may have to interview (with the people I asked to be my reference) for a slightly higher up position than the one I’m aiming for now, so they may recall the nerve I had to ask them to be a reference. Of course they could also say yes and then it just boils down to my ability to interview well. I won’t lose my current position either way, it’s just a matter of if I have the nerve to ask them to be references (I need 3). I think they would say no because they don’t know me that well. And that’s it pretty much in a nutshell. Oh and this opportunity only comes up twice a year, every year usually but there’s no guarantee that it will either.
Oh and today I scratched my Maui Jim glasses again, I bonked my face off the car ever so slightly but it only got my glasses and tada a lovely scratch, which will cost $100 plus to fix.
Thanks for the suggestions though. Many good ideas to consider even if it justs takes my mind off of it temporarily.
Edit: It may not sound like that would make it a bad couple of days but because they had closed the interview stage to move up the ladder until who knows when back in June and they just reopened it. I wasn’t expecting to have to rally my references so soon and so I don’t want to upset anyone since they may not know me as well as they would like. I am so content where I am but now people are saying I should risk it and go for it, so just the stress from it has kinda sucked the life outta well life.
Mimoza: Thanks! Perhaps a walk is my next step… followed by some youtube or netflix, haven’t decided. Hopefully I can just figure this all out.

BritneyK: Thanks for sharing! Could have certainly used that one on Wednesday but now I have it for future bad days. I just love how when it rains it pours and all of this week has kinda sucked, except for yesterday I thought until I checked my email. Oh well! Life goes on thankfully 🙂
amdsmrnitesdrm: Yeah it helped slightly. Still stressed and slightly mad but less than before. Thanks!

Looks like all the stress and getting upset today has done me wonders though since now I’m breaking out and I’m coming down with a cold. YAY! 🙂

Just went looking for funny wedding stories online. Several of these are crazy, but the one about the Walton’s really calmed me down.

When I really feel awful I spend time with my pets, who don’t know about tough things in the world. They remind me to take it one step at a time. Alternatively, watching cute animals on netflix or nature docs always makes me feel better. If it’s a really terrible day, retail therapy via thrift shopping is pretty great and cheap. I hope your day gets better OP!

A big wonderful hug from my FH works in addition to my Rottie, one of my favorite animated movies, and/or a delicious piece of cake usually do it for me.
