I tend not to snack too much when I am dieting (like right now), and instead have more filling meals or small meals throughout the day.
With that said, popcorn is a great snack. veggies & hummus, lots of fruit. Banana with a tbls. of peanut butter. I sometimes have a cup of hot tea..which can curb a craving. Some people swear by a piece of really good chocolate…but I have no self control and would eat all the chocolate at once if I kept any in the house!! haha
Good luck! 🙂

I like to eat several small meals a day. I’d go for something with protein (nuts, greek yogurt, low fat cheese, hummus, hard boiled eggs…) as protein keeps you fuller longer. Avoid highly processed or refined carbs (like white bread and white pasta) swap them out for something with whole grains. Don’t cut them out completey- this is not good for your metabolism & you need some healthy carbs to function properly. Also, don’t completely cut out fat. Try to choose fats that are unsaturated or reduced fat foods.
Basically, don’t tell yourself certain things are “off limits” because you will only want them more. Try to eat a good mix of protein, healthy fats, and whole grains to keep your diet balanced and your metabolism going.
Oh, one more thing- don’t skip meals!! Your metabolism can slow down & won’t burn as effectively.

If is boredom, I make green tea or sometimes have a fresca.
If its real hunger, I make a balanced snack heavy on veggies, with protein and a healthy fat.
And most importantly I stopped “biting” just a bite of this because it tastes good. Those small bites all day long really add up. If I want something, I plan for it. I am craving chocolate I dont take small bites all day of sweets thinking “its just a little” I wait till after dinner and have my piece of dark chocolate and actually enjoy it.

Carrots, air popped popcorn, Kellogg FiberPlus Antioxidant bars (I love the dark chocolate almond), a handful of nuts or homemade ice pops made of Vitamin Water Zero or Sobe 0 Calorie Lifewater.

When I was dieting I use to buy those tubes of yogurt intended for kids and freeze them. It satisfied my ice cream craving.

I’ll chew a piece of gum. I always go for the minty ones, so even once the gum is “done”, the mint remains and I don’t want anything right away. Also, try drinking an entire glass of water, sometimes thirst manifests as hunger. And if it doesn’t help, more water= healthier skin, organs, etc. 🙂
