Pay yourself first.  Set up automatic transfers from your checking account to your savings account every payday. You won’t spend what you don’t see.

I’m quite frugal but I wouldn’t say extreme couponing level.

I keep thermostat warmer in summer and cooler in winter.

Showers are short but not military showers.

Only run the dishwasher when I have enough to fill it completely, when I cook or let stuff pile up lol. If it’s just a small dinner, or just me I hand wash.

Use energy efficient LED bulbs.

I use up everything completely, squeeze toothpaste tube, drip laundry detergent and dish soap.

I comparison shop for sales and some coupons.

Buy in bulk, buy in season produce, make most coffee at home. Grind it yourself it’s a lot less to buy beans.

I used to not have tv or internet so no bill, but fiancé insisted on WiFi so we have internet but still no tv.

I bought with cash a used small pick up truck. It’s over 20 years old now (10 yrs old when I bought it) but she’s still running like a champ! No car payment, no interest to pay.

I use my truck to take my own trash and recycling off, no bill for curb side pick up.

I use a Brita filter at home, so I don’t have to buy bottled water.

Thanks for all the other ideas ladies! I love saving money.

Label your savings account. For the wedding I called one of my savings account ‘ wedding saver’.  Before you touch that money, you see your goal starring back at you. I transfer all my money to savings each pay day and give myself a small budget to live on in my day to day account
