I try my hardest not to drink soda because it makes me gain weight SO fast.I also try to avoid fast food but sometimes it is just so darn convenient. Personally I tend to avoid meat unless I am voraciously craving red meat (which is rare…not the meat the frequency ๐Ÿ˜› ).

Lately I have been trying to eat a little healthier because this holiday season really killed my waist line. :/

I avoid diet drinks as well as food containing aspartame. Otherwise, I eat anything but all in moderation. I believe in a balanced diet and not depriving yourself of the things you love.

diary, gluten, coffee and chocolate hurt my stomach. so usually i avoid those groups.. sometimes i need my chocolate or pasta and i will just deal with the aftermath.lol. people think its so crazy because those groups sound like everything but there is still a lot of other good foods!!

@Taimane:  I think she probably meant gallbladder issues. ๐Ÿ™‚

My no-nos are pretty much all fast food and premade packaged things like pizzas in boxes, Lean Cuisine, margarines, and generally cheap fast-food stuff that comes from chain restaurants and supermarkets. Yuck. I also avoid soda (though I will have an Izze juice soda thing or a ginger beer from the health food store a few times during the summer) and most fruit juice. I can’t bear eating pork or chicken, but I’m OK with other meats, preferably grass-fed or otherwise humanely raised. I don’t do lunch meats that are like “jelly” as someone said earlier! I also avoid most white flour products unless I’ve made them myself with good quality flour, and all artificial sweeteners. Some artificial sweeteners give me migraines or make me super nauseated!

I have a long list there– I’m a foodie! I definitely believe in eating whole, natural foods as much as possible, but I do try to limit my intake of full-fat cheeses since I’m trying to lose weight and sometimes I need more protein so I go for reduced fat cheese.

@candy11:  Okay, this has been a slow process but I’m doing better and better. After a few months of eating relatively healthy, I am now starting an SCD/paleo-ish diet.

So, no sugar and no alcohol (huge triggers for me). No grains. For now, no dairy and no complex carbs, like squash. I’m just going to eat veg and proteins for the next couple weeks and then introduce a bit of fruit, squash, beans, etc. here or there. I feel strange, but in a good way, and I’m excited to see where this goes. I really abused sugar for a long time and I need to lay off of it for a while. For snacks, I’m eating lots of guacamole, nuts, nut butter dishes, etc. and once I can incorporate fruit/raw honey, I’ll be fine.

@AB Bride:  There is a huge difference between avoiding foods because you’re allergic and avoiding foods because, for whatever reason, you’ve decided it’s ‘bad’.

You should look into the blood group diet. Its not neccessarily a diet to make you lose weight but lots of people who have tried it have reported feeling so much better and healthier in themself.

I have looked into it but never really tried it, i do know lots of people who have with great success.

I believe there may be some truth behind it, Mine says that i should not eat dairy. I am infact Lactose Intollerant ๐Ÿ™‚

I will not purchase soda. Darling Husband will buy it only if he plans on mixing rum & coke.

I’m trying to do very little sugar. I sweeten my coffee with pure stevia (which does not produce to lipogenic effect that sugar does) & then only eat fruit in moderation. Any other sugar is out for me.

This is a really new thing I am trying, but I know it’s going to produce a lot of good results ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, and I’ve recently given up all alcohol.
