Ha, love the picture!

My husband work Friday night and Saturday night so I’ll be spending those days with my dogs. Sunday we will go to church and then brunch with his family. I can’t wait! They always have the best food!

We are heading up to Huntsville with our puppy to relax, hike, and just enjoy some family time. We are gone the whole weekend, so no Easter dinner for us.

Yay Holidays board!

After church, I’m cooking dinner for a funny mix of our nearest and dearest: 6 Christians, 6 Jews and 1 Buddhist. Fiance and I were LOL’ing about how we had to add chicken to the menu so the Jewish peeps have something to eat.

The menu is:

  • Apps: Assorted cheese/crackers and my mom’s homemade pate
  • Arugula, beet and goat cheese salad
  • Creamy mint pea soup with homemade parmasean croutons
  • Ham
  • Kosher chicken
  • Potato leek galette
  • Asparagus
  • My mom’s delish “Episcopalian Cheese Pie” (as my Fiance named it…it’s kind of like a cheesecake, but we always have it on Easter and he thinks it’s so waspy lol)

@pengoala:  I’m really excited to get away. We both work a lot, so we take advantage of long weekends when we can. I have to say I’m a bit jealous of all this food talk though, lol. I will have to console myself with my wine and cheese!

We’re going to dinner at my mom’s, and I have been tasked with bringing dessert, booze, and some flowers for my grandma (who just had a knee replacement, had a stroke last week, and is getting another operation next week).  My mom works full time while taking care of her 85 year old parents and she’s been really stressed lately with their health, so I’m also going to surprise my wonderful mom with a gift certificate for a massage πŸ™‚  Who says you can’t give someone a present at Easter?

We will go to BIL/SILs’…   Mother-In-Law will bring the ham, I’m making Pineapple bread pudding to go with it,   my other SIL makes the best homeade mac n cheese.  It’s chilly this year, but last year we had the kids on the slip n slide.
