Darling Husband and I have such a hard time agreeing on names. We have had a girls name picked out and decided on a boys name earlier this year, but if we have more than one of either gender we’ll have some serious discussion ahead of us lol.

Our favourite girls name is Isobel after DH’s late grandmother, and our favourite boys name is Peter after his late father. Other girls names we like (but don’t love) are: Lily, Georgia, Sophie and Grace. Other boys names we like (but don’t love) are: Lachlan, Timothy, Oliver and Isaac.

Girls names that I love but Darling Husband immediately veto’d include: Abigail, Juliet, Madeleine, Aubrey and Aria. Boys name that I love but Darling Husband immediately veto’d include: Noah, Jensen, Kaiden, Connor and Mason.

Darling Husband and I can’t agree on practically any names! Not sure if we are having a girl or boy yet, but we can agree on one girl’s name… Lucia (pronounced Lu-chia)

Some other favorties for a girl are Cora, Stella, Adeline and Mia. For boys, Aiden, Luca, Dean, and Liam.

Fiance and I have discussed baby names a million times because we definitely want to TTC once we buy a home but it is so difficult to find names that we both love. We have decided on Josephine after his late grandmother (she was seriously the nicest woman) and Stella if we have girls and Fletcher if we have a boy. Fiance was deadset on Richard for a boy but I refuse and I was pretty set on Gwendolyn for a girl but Fiance can hardly even pronounce it lol.

We’re pregnant now so I’ve given this a lot of thought. The names we’ve settled on so far are Keanu Vincent for a boy or Abigail Jo for a girl. Now, I may change this twenty more times before birth so there is that. I have one other boy name that we might use but I think we are both set on Keanu unless husband changes his mind. He originally gave me free reign to pick the girl name but nothing else “felt right” other than his pick of Abigail that he’s always wanted. Also it’s fitting because I’m pretty sure this baby is a demonic entity trying to kill me.

Names I loved but didn’t make the cut:

And my top two names he loathed and flat out refused that I will have to save for when I have twins: Magnus and Agnes.

We have pretty simple/classic taste and are pregnant at the moment.

We’re almost certain that if it’s a boy he’ll be Theodore and a girl will be Matilda. They’re long standing favourites and luckily we both love them.

But other boys names we like but don’t love are Tobias, Martin, Jeremy, Nathan, Christopher and Patrick.

Girls are easier imo lol: my favourites are Madeline, Isla, Celeste, Stella and Ruby.

My fiance and I are one and done type of people, so we won’t get to use both names we picked out but at least we agree. If we have a girl she will be named Ayla – pronounced like kayla but without the k. My favorite book series is The Clan of the Cave Bear, so she’ll be named after the Ayla in the book. For a boy we will name him Ari or Leo but leaning towards Ari. Ari is hebrew for lion and swahili for determination – i served in the Peace Corps in Tanzania for three years so I’m fluent in Swahili and I wanted to some how incorporate that into my child’s name. Haven’t decided on a middle name for Ayla but it will definetly be Swahili

I guess I’m a bit boring; my favourites are James, Richard, or Daniel for a boy and Meredith, Emily and Zoe for a girl. I love Irish and Italian names too but I’m a mixed bag (quarter Irish, quarter English and half Italian) and I was brought up in England so they’d be a bit daft imo – just to me, not judging anyone else!

We have a plethora of family names as middle names and it’s the first names we’ve struggled with. We’re not even engaged let alone TTC but we talk about them all the time.
