Sounds fun! My favourite easy appy is steak bites. Just grill up a steak, chop it up, maybe put some sauces on the side. Done. Always a hit with us. Maybe some caprese skewers for your vegetarians? Those are easy and make ahead. Put a balsamic sauce on the side for drizzling.

Costco sells this AMAZINGLY yummy parmesan artichoke dip. Cant get enough of it.

I think a mezza platter is a less common choice, but usually a hit. I do pita, feta, a variety of olives, hummus, tatziki, with cucumbers and carrots.

Trader Joes also has some great snacky type things. The Chicken Tika Samosas are to die for. And I love the little onion tartlets too.

Bacon wrapped anything, but especially water chestnuts

prosciutto wrapped asparagus

chicken salad mini croissants

petit fours

definitely a second vote for the hummus/feta/olive tray as PP suggested

I love dips of any kind! With veggies, pita bread, to fill chips, etc. For family gatherings we always make sausage balls. It’s just shredded cheddar cheese, bisquick, and ground sausage. Then cook them in the oven. So addicting.

Charcuterie/cheese board.

Any sort of pastry/phyllo thing usually goes over well. You can usually get some of those types of apps that you can throw in the oven with no prep.

Sliders of any kind (braised beef, pulled pork).

Vegetarian samosas.

When I go to a party, I usually gravitate to cut fruit.. you can get a pre-cut fruit platter.

Smoked salmon is my go to. I also second the charcuterie board!

I second the suggestion for a mezze platter with various dips, cruditee, olives, pita, and crackers, as well as veggie samosas.

Other easy vegetarian/dairy & nut free appetizer would be bruschetta or white bean crostini. There are tons of variations on crostini (artichoke, nut-free pesto, sundried tomato, smashed avocado, etc) and it’s an easy to prep crowd-pleaser.

Guacamole, a few types of salsa, and corn chips is another favorite that requires minimal prep. If you wanted to stick to a Mexican theme you could also do quesadilla bites or black bean taquitos, which would a more substantial vegetarian app.

I always love a cheese plate.  And I think it’s nice to offer something a bit on the healthier side if you can, like veggies and hummus.

Samosas, spring rolls, arancini balls, a fancy cheese board, quiche bites! I’m pretty sure Trader Joe’s sells all of these 🙂
