This isnt a mean spirited thread, so please keep it nice bees. Im just curious because in my small immediate family we have 9 different dog breeds in our 4 seperate homes. Its interesting to see everyones preferences and how much love they have for each breed and why.
So my question is:
What are your favorite dog breeds & why?
What dog breeds are your least favorite & why?

I’ll start off the thread with mine:
My favorite dog breeds: English bulldogs and pomeranians are my top two. I have 2 bullies and 2 poms… I would be interested in owning a pekinese or french bulldog, but my heart has really been stolen by my english bulldogs. My Fiance wanted an english and I love all animals so I agreed. I cannot believe the love he brings me and how funny he is everyday to watch. We then went on to get another bully and in the future I want to rescue senior bullies because they are just so lazy, wrinkly, and loving.
My least favorite breeds: boxers, goldendoodles, yorkies… I think its a hair thing for me, I prefer either long fluffy hair or mooshy wrinkley chunky dogs LOL so boxers are too athletic and lean, goldendoodles have that poodle hair texture and yorkies sometimes have that greasy look to their hair. Not all, but just my preference:)

Favorite: Frenchies, we have 2. I don’t think I can ever own a different breed after having them, but I’ve considered getting an English bulldog. I like the smaller size of Frenchies though. I think pugs and Boston terriers are super cute too. I bascially like anything with a smooshie face.
Least favorite: Not really a fan of big dogs in general, but I have an aversion to German shepherds. I’m not a fan of curly haired breeds either, like poodles or any poodle crosses.

I really like Labs and Retreivers, they seem like the perfect “family dog” to me.
I don’t really like Chihuahua’s… some of them are nice, but most of them are yappy and nip at you.

Favorite: corgis-I love those stumpy lil goofballs
least favorite: bichon frise- they are barky and pretentious

I love my german shepherds. Our german shepherds have been great as protectors but also family. They adore our nieces but dont hesitate if threatened.
I dont like small dogs like chihuhuas and poms among others. I just havent met one that I like, only exception is a bulldogs, french or english.

Favorite: boston terriers & any other dog with a smooshed face!! We have 2 Boston’s & my ex and I had an English bulldog.
Least favorite: Maltese and small white fluffy dogs. My mom has 2 Maltese and all they do is bark. All. Day. Long. And they’re not well behaved at all (totally my moms fault) So they leave a bad taste in my mouth for small white fluffy dogs!

Favorites are the bigger the better – in particular our English Mastiff, also Great Danes, Saint Bernards, Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs. ..I love them for their sweet and gentle nature as a whole and the fact that you wouldn’t expect animals so big to be so sensitive, well behaved, and cuddly. I also love labs because they are all around wonderful, viszlas (sp), weimaraners, most spaniels…The mid to large athletic dogs.
Least favorites are mainly size related: chihuahuas, bichons, yorkies, Jack Russells. ..I suppose that’s due to the ones I’ve met of those breeds and the often frequent contrast in personality from the things I’ve named above that I like.

Favorite: Labs. I have one, and she is very smart and loves people.
Least Favorite: Bulldogs. I find them to be ugly, slobbery, and stubborn.

Favorite – corgis. They’re so cute and derpy with great personalities. They’re a great size without being yappy.
Least – anything too drooly just because they drool a lot. I don’t have a specific least favorite.

Barbiestylez: My favorite is the beagle! We have 2!! I also love mutts and anything long and low. Oh, and I love flat coated retrievers.
Not sure I have a least favorite.

Favorite: Basset hounds, and by extension most scent hounds. I love th sweet, easy going basset personality, as well as their independent minds. I love their giant snooty noses, their stocky meat-truck bodies, and their long ears.
Least: Boxers. SO obnoxious to me, and also the stumpy tails.

AOriver: I have a maltese, and its my favourite breed because she’s my baby, but you’re right… they bark a lot! Mine is almost 6 and when she gets going, I have a hard time getting her to stop!
Least Favourite would be any big dogs, only because I am so allergic to large breed dogs, nothing personal!

I’m partial to the herding dogs. We have a pembroke and a cardigan corgi, but I also love aussies and border collies (too much energy for me though!). I’d be open to a smaller dog like a pom or a papillion some day too.
I don’t agree with “designer” dogs and would never own one unless it was a rescue.
