I love morganite because it is such a beautiful soft pink and because my wife’s name is Morgan.
I love opals because they look like something a mermaid would wear.
I love moissanite because it is incredibly sparkly and moody. I also love its scientific background.

Awwww that’s so sweet! That’s so special to the two of you ^_^ does she have any morganite? I totally would heehee
Opals do remind me of mermaids now you mention it, I could look at them for ages

I love pearls – if that counts – because they are my birthstone. Emeralds are my sister’s birth stones and I love them and rubies are my mom’s birth stones and I love them. The majority of my exposure to different gems is just the different birthstones in my family. I have recently fallen in love with opals after buying my mom an opal ring for her birthday.

I love fancy colored sapphires, especially padparadscha, pinks and peaches.
I also love tourmalines. Paraiba and rubellite are my favorites.
Amethyst is another favorite. I love purple and it’s DH’s birthstone which makes it even more special. I have a little amethyst geode that I got as a kid. I’d love to have a big one to display one day.
I love diamonds, especially antique cuts. I really love their gorgeous sparkle.
I recently fell in love with turquoise. Turquoise from the Dry Creek and Number 8 mines as well as Tibetan turquoise are a few of my favorites.

I love peach and padparadscha sapphires, because they are very durable stones and the colours are to DIE for!
I also like morganite too 🙂

This is a great post! : )
I love those earrings!
I have a lot of favorites:
Sapphire-love all the different blue colors and peachy pink is one of my new favs
Moissanite- never seen anything so sparkly in my life, swoon
London blue topaz- Such beautiful color
Clear and Blue Diamond-the steeliness and depth of clear diamonds and blue-greenish color of blue diamond is so beautiful
Tanzanite and Iolite – the purple blue color is just soooo pretty in both these stones
Emerald- green is one of my favorite colors
Alexandrite-I think it is so cool that it changes into TWO different beautiful colors depending on the light
Pearls- Although not technically a gemstone, I love how lustrous they are and how they feel warm after you have been wearing them for a while
Rubies, Aquamarine, Amethyst, Garnet, Morganite….I could go on. I love them all actually. I want to buy one of each and then put them in a satchel that I carry around then shine a flashlight on them occasionally…my precious lol

Oh pearls are magnificent. I haven’t bought any because I want to find out if they’d clash with my vegetarianism any lol but I have some inherited ones and they are beautiful ^_^ (just so no-one worries I would never judge anyone else for buying pearls if I decide not to! Just like I don’t resent my dad for loving his steak, we’re all different and I love that.) there’s always glass pearls too! Something about their spherical shape entrances me. I love stroking pearls when I wear them!
I’ve considered buying loose gems just to molest them and look at the pretty colours. I found a lump of amethyst as a small child with my grandad and it was like treasure! I felt like a pirate! Shinies bring me too much joy 😀

You did that’s awesome! Idk you could even find it without mining or something. Me too, I’m 25 and I still collect rocks when I am outside, any time I see some quartz or something shiny gotta pick it up.

I *LOVE* natural rubies, especially the rich “pigeon blood’ color (awful name though, right?) Gorgeous. I’d LOVE this stone in a ring 🙂

Omgsh, I LOVE gemstones. I love mystic topaz, theres so many types. Favorite of them are Luminous Star and Mercury. But I love pretty much all of them. I also love blue topaz. So I’d say as a whole, topaz is my favorite.
I also love alexandrite (which is one of my birthstones) but I like the more purpley ones than the brown/green ones.
I love opal. Again, theres so many types of it. I love almost every opal I’ve ever seen, except the black ones. They’re sorta plain to me.
Morganite is one of my new loves. Looks amazing in rose gold, but its also really pretty in silver.
Tanzanite is gorgeous, but I prefer the more purpley ones than the blue.
Apatite! I almost forgot that one. SOOOO pretty.
I could go on and on.

Sapphires because they’re my birthstone, and Garnets remind my of my SO…:)

I love Emeralds, and all the pale pastel Sapphires – they have a really watery quality that’s so pretty. Grey and black diamonds (my e-ring is a black diamond). I also absolutely love lapis lazuli, hematite and koroit opals:
