Groom, three groomsmen, and FOB will all be renting whatever black tux or suit from Men’s Wearhouse the groom selects. Groom will be in one color tie/vest, the groomsman in the other wedding color for the tie/vest, the FOB in either white or silver tie/vest.
FOG refuses to rent tux (doesn’t want to spend money and we’ve offered to pay) or wear tux (doesn’t want to be uncomfortable apparently). I’m trying to figure out what my options are. What did your FOB and FOG wear? Or what will they wear? I think it’s going to look really stupid for him to be the only one not in the same tux or suit in our pictures and standing up at our chuppah and so am looking for ideas from other bees about what their gents wore.

@mordantmaxim: I fear I’m in a similar situation. FOG insists that he has multiple perfectly good suits in his closet and doesn’t want to rent a tux. Despite the review of his and MOG’s wedding album where it’s clear that his own father wore the complementary tux to the wedding. I guess I’m hoping he’ll be peer pressured into it. And worst case scenario, it’s not like someone will look at the picture and think “what was the bride THINKING!?,” they’ll think “who’s the guy in the brown suit?”

Our FOB/FOG/Groomsman will all be wearing the same suits. The wedding colors are coral & gold, so, the Groomsman will be wearing coral vests and the FOB/FOG will be wearing gold vests.

Let’s see.. in our case the groom and groomsmen and best man will be in black suits (whatever they have in their closets), and the FOB will be wearing a navy suit (already owns it). The FOG – I just have no idea what he is wearing for a suit.
We haven’t figured out ties yet, but I might do one thing for the bridal party and then FOB and FOG can wear whatever they want.

At my sister’s wedding, my father and the FOG had tuxes rented for them. When he showed up at the venue, it was clear *no one* had checked that my father’s tux was on properly–the cumberbund was over the waistline, the pants were loose and falling down, and they didn’t have his size in the patent-leather shoes so he was in some that were too small that reminded me of jazz shoes circa 1984. We adjusted everything on the fly before pictures.
Perhaps something similar happened to your FOG and that’s why he’s refusing to wear a rental one now. My Brother-In-Law had an aversion to rental clothing, so he bought his tux (and hasn’t worn it since). That might be an (albeit expensive) option.

Fiance, best man, groomsmen and my dad are all wearing rented tuxes, as part of the bridal party. Right now, we don’t know what FI’s dad will be wearing (we don’t even know if he will make it)…he doesn’t know how to dress, either. Most likely, if he does make it to the wedding, Fiance will have to take him shopping to get some slacks and a jacket.
