Lancôme Hypnose Drama mascara is a big staple for me when I don’t have lash extensions. Morphie has pretty pigmented palettes (mattes are less pigmented though) for eyeshadow. NYX has cheap, decent eyeliners and lip products. Primer/concealer/foundation is really about finding a match for both your complexion color and your skin type – what works for someone who has oily skin isn’t great for someone with dry skin, etc. Becca Cosmetics has one of my favorite highlighters.  I don’t think you need to have ALL high end beauty products. I tend to invest in prestige cosmetics where it counts, and save money where I can. IMO the Kylie lipkits aren’t worth the price tag, but I know other people who love and swear by them.  A good skincare routine makes all the difference, so don’t forget to invest in moisturizers and a cleaning system. If your “canvas” isn’t on point, even the most expensive “paints” in the world aren’t going to give you a polished look.

My holy grails are Tarte timeless smoothing primer, Giorgio Armani Luminous silk foundation and powder, Tarte rainforest of the sea filtered light setting powder, Smashbox contour kit, Benefit hoola bronzer, Benefit Ooh La Lift and Dior creme de rose lip balm.

As for skincare, I’m doing the K beauty routine.  I actually use western products for this and few asian products…mostly from Eminence Organics.

anonbee4321 :  I use mostly drugstore products, but always buy high end foundation and concealer. There are really good drugstore/cheap options for makeup now! FYI, Sephora and Ulta let you return products within 30-60 days if you have access to those.

Tarte is an amazing brand, I love their Shape Tape concealer and Rainforest of the Sea foundation. MAC has great foundation and lipsticks. Urban Decay All Nighter Spray is a must-buy if you oily skin and/or need your makeup to last all day. Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation gets some mixed reviews, but I think it’s pretty amazing. And a recent discovery–Wet n Wild has amazing liquid lipsticks!

These items I have been consistently reaching for in my makeup collection.

anonbee4321 :  My holy grails by category (and trust me I’m a make up junkie..recently bought a whole new furniture for my makeup storage ><) and fyi, I am oily combination.

Face- Benefit Pore essentials

Eyes- Urban Decay

Tarte Amazon Clay for full coverage

Bobbi Brown skin foundation for light/buildable coverage

I mix it with one drop of face oil on bad skin days.

For under eye: Bobbi Brown undereye brightener

For coverage: Kat Von D – not necessarily holy grail, recently bought it and it’s pretty good.

Pressed powder: Estee Lauder – Complete finish instal powder makeup – hoenstly the best. I’ve been using this for the past 6-7 years.

Loose powder: Chanel

Eyeshadow palette:

I have numerous palettes and tried many and my favorites and go-to’s are:

MAC eyeshadows are generally very very good. Little to minimal fallout but super pigmented and easy to blend.

Urban Decay and Too faced Chocolate palettes are my next go-to’s although I find that Urban Decay has too much fallout.

Been using NARS blush (orgasm) for years but I find that it fades very quickly.

I’ve been using colorpop blush or just use my lipproducts and blend with my finger or a beauty blender.

Anastasia Beverley Hills brow wiz. Haven’t found anything better.

Stila liquid eyeliner (pen types)

Makeup forever pencil eye liner – the only one that doesn’t smudge for me. I have extremely oily eye lids.

I use Asian brands. They’re the only ones that don’t smudge for me.

I use Benefit Hoola Light for contour and Hoola (original) for bronze

Lip products:

I found MAC to be too drying while NARS has awesome colors and are not too drying.

If you are not a lipstick person, then Dior Lipglow is subtle but adds a nice hint of color to your lips.

My staples are bare minerals original powder foundation & mineral veil loose powder; benefit hula bronzer; various NARS & benefit blushes; buxom lash and benefit rollerlash mascaras; urban decay eyeshadow; too faced perfect eyes liner as well as pixie lid and line…that’s about it. I don’t typically wear concealer, highlight, or lip color unless it’s a special occasion. I usually wear fresh sugar lip treatment (the clear one) on my lips and it’s amazing.

Smashbox primer

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer

NARS Orgasm Blush

Lancome High Definition Mascara

Anatasia Tinted Brown Gel

Urban Decay Setting Spray

I can’t figure out eye shadow for the life of me. If anyone has any suggestions on palettes that are easy to use/blend, I’m all ears. I’ve tried the Naked Palettes but they overwhelm me.
