CarribeanBridetoBe:  I love the effect of it, but now that y’all mentioned, it won’t freaking come off.  EVER.  Annoying.

My HG is Givenchy Noir Couture.  For nice nights out, big events, it’s my go to.

I don’t wear face makeup on a daily basis and all the eye makeup I’ve tried has never wowed me, but I absolutely love what Retin A, Vit C serum and Cerave moisturizer with sunscreen has done for my skin. Botox has also been a godsend.

ljm308:  I also just started using the Bareskin serum foundation because I needed something with a little bit more coverage, though I love the matte mineral powder for the days where I need something light. I feel like a total grease ball with this hot and humid weather we’re having, but I like the Bareskin foundation as well. I started using Bare Minerals because of my sensitive skin. It sounds like you may have sensitive skin as well? I’d love to find a more affordable setting powder that won’t break me out. I’ve only used NYX brand lip glosses.

Also, I have the original Naked palette and I absolutely love it! Over time, I’ve grown to love the shades that I used to just skip over. It’s lasted me for a long time and I’d repurchase in a heartbeat!

Oh boy I could write a book on make-up/ skincare.

I think good skin is the foundation of “beauty” and found a line that gives me a wonderful complexion.   I tell my husband often that if it ever came down to a choice between food and skincare, skincare would win the day.

Make up? If I decide to wear foundation I usually chose between Bare Minerals Bareskin and No. 7 Lift and Luminate.   However, I generally need just a bit of concealer under my eyes and on my nose. And Guerlain’s Meteorites in the original colors.  I’ve had it for AGES and shows no sign of running out!

Eye make up is where I really splurge.  I love Chanel for eyes, I find the colors gorgeous and they have great staying power. Their pencils are a bit spendy but the line stays put and don’t fade on me. However, I was  way disappounted with their concealer and their mascara.  Clinique eye shadows are really nice as well.

My teeth are not the best so I keep my lips a subtle pink, some actual lip glosses and some are lipsticks. Everything from Chanel down to ELF.

And a good perfume  is a great way to finish getting ready.

My mascara is {right now} is Rimmel Wonder Lash in Extreme Black. Mascara is one item I have a lot of problems with and have yet to find one that doesn’t either smear or clump.  Any suggstions?

I have about 7 blushes, all in varying shades of pink/rose.  I’v tried cream blushess, but they don’t look good on me.

Love this!

Foundation: Bare Minerals, the original stuff, loose powder you swirl and tap on.

Primer: Monistat chafing gel….lol, seriously.

Concealer: Bare Minerals, bisque is my shade, again loose powder. The only thing that can truly cover my rosacea and it doesn’t feel heavy on face. I dislike liquid anything on my face.

Eyelid primer: Revlon Photo Ready followed by foundation has been amazing since I discovered the combo.

Eyeshadow: love Bare Minerals again and have also fallen in love with Sonia Kushnick.

For makeup remover I swear by witchhazel, gets off even waterproof mascara.

Eyeliner: I really like Revlon liquid. it took getting the hang of it, but I really like it now.

Finishing/setting spray: Urban Decay with the gray lid. Its amazing but a definite splurge so I don’t have it all the time.

Blush: I use Bare Minerals again. I only have one, don’t need much. I get a natural flush to my cheeks daily so I don’t have a lot of different colors.

I’m still on the hunt for the perfect mascara, & lipstick. I keep trying new ones though!

CarribeanBridetoBe:  Bare minerals just does not last a full day. I really wanted to like the powders but even with primers they didnt last. I like to still see color on my makeup removing wipe at the end of the day and Bare Minerals never lasted that long. When I’m going through a powder phase I like to use a primer, Mac Studio Fix pressed powder, bronzer, and then Mac Prep+Prime fix+ spray(whatever its called). The spray gets rid of the powdery look and locks your makup in for the day. Ive had the best luck with Mac powders lasting all day, some people do have issues with Mac but I have noticed that the further I get from my teens the less Mac makeup bothers my skin.

CarribeanBridetoBe:  Oooh, I love these threads!

The one tool I honestly can’t go without is my beauty blender. I’ve tried loads of other brushes and sponges and some have been pretty good, but nothing is as reliable or gives as flawless of a finish as the trusty beauty blender.

Primer: L’Oreal Lumi Magique and a L’Oreal Skin Perfector/Magic Blur over my T zone

Foundation: Mac Studio Fix Fluid (I know this is a controversial one, but it works really well with my skin and has never broken me out)

Concealer: Mac Pro Longwear

Powder(s): Elf HD Under Eye Setting Powder and Australis Fresh and Flawless (considered a dupe for the MAC studio fix powder)

Contour: NYX Taupe Blush

Blush: Elf Peachy Cheeky – I just haven’t found anything else that gives such a pretty glow!

Highlighter: The Balm Mary Lou Manizer

Brows: Australis Eyebrow Pencil and L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper (this stuff is the bomb)

Eyes: Maybelline Studio Gel Liner (this stuff is amazing!), Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Lips: Loving the L’Oreal Infallible glosses, Lancome Juicy Shakers, and ELF Matte Lip Crayons at the moment, but not sure if I have a true holy grail for this category

Finishing Spray: Love love love Mac Fix+

CarribeanBridetoBe:  Yes! I really, really do.

A couple of months back I decided to try the RT one because I was hoping I could save some $, but it just honestly doesn’t have the same effect for me. I actually think the RT one feels smoother and nicer, almost like a higher quality material, yet my foundation just doesn’t blend the same way when I use it and sort of sits on my skin a bit cakey.

I don’t know what kind of magic wizardry goes into a beauty blender, but it is amazing and kinda foolproof (which I need…).

🙂

ladyvictoria:  Yes!  I have sensitive skin.  I’m pale as they come and I break out like crazy if I’m not careful.  I’m also L-A-Z-Y with beauty so if I can skip a step I usually do haha.  I’ve found the NYX stuff to be really great…but I get the loose powder and not the compressed, which I find does nothing for me.

UGH I HATE when girls get all “holier than thou” about not wearing makeup. This happened to me at a cabin weekend with friends over Easter weekend. I’m 31 and have always had pretty acne-prone skin and am left with redness, large pores, and some actual pitted scars, so I almost never go without at LEAST foundation.

Most of the other girls on the trip were in their early to mid 20’s, with crystal clear skin, and it was pretty obvious her comment about “not understaing why some girls feel the need to wear makeup when they’re just, like, hanging out” was targeted at me. Some people completely lack empathy…

Anyways, I have a few things I swear by…

Foundation: Dior Airflash (Sooo worth the extra money)

Powder: Bare Minerals Original Mineral Veil

Eye shadow: Too Faced
