One time when I was little, I saw the SCARIEST (to me) episode of “Are You Afraid Of The Dark” where this creepy monster guy came up out of the water/drains/pipes in pools/showers/etc in the middle of the night. Ever since then, I’ve been leery of water at night. I don’t swim or shower late at night.
Well, at least once per night, I have to pee SO BAD. So I will, as quickly as possible, but I have SUCH a fear of flushing the toilet in the middle of the night! hahaha. I always do it and run out the room so quickly and just use hand sanitier once I’m back to my room. Being in the bathroom in the middle of the night makes me nervous.
This is absolutely absurd, because I am a 24 year old woman and know that no monster will come up the pipes and get me, but I still get antsy every time.
What crazy things are you afraid of?
EDIT: I just googled my fear episode, and found it on this list! Its the number two scariest episode of the show 😛
Oh man, I remember almost all of those episodes and how they used to scare me. I kinda wanna go back and find them on youtube!

@LeonardLady: clowns. I really really hate them
ahh I know that episode! By the way because of the movie IT – I’m afraid of balloons coming out of shower drains and of walking next to rain gutters…. Totally feel your late night water fear!

@LeonardLady: bees/wasps – things that can sting me. There is no reason for me to be afraid, and when I say I’m afraid,I mean I will run away screaming like a 5 year old if there’s one within 10 feet of me

@SparkleBee11: AHHHH IT. No me gusta. Also, my SO is deathly afraid of clowns because of this movie as well!
@howsweetitis: What is it about kangaroos that frightens you?
@MsGinkgo: Haha, aww! I’ll tell you what I tell the boy I nanny: If you leave them alone, they’ll leave you alone! lol 🙂

My list was pretty long for a while. Now though there are only a few things… fear of medication.. In my last pregnancy I wouldnt even take tylenol. Now on my second pregnancy I’m made to take 7, about to be 8, medications. Sucks but my fear goes on the back burner when a baby depends on it.
recently i have overcome my fear of driving and dogs. Can’t shake the spider fear though. Biggest fear but not irrational, that my children will see the bad in the world, but i guess thats every parents fear

@Mrslovebug: Wow, congrats on overcoming the fear of driving! I’m sure that’s actually probably helped out with a lot of stuff in life, not having to depend on people to take you places or busses to be around when they might not be scheduled. And good for you for taking pills to help your baby. Sad to say it, but many women might not be able to do it.

BIRDS! I hate birds flying near me – it’s the erratic motion and the sound of flapping wings. I love to watch birds from a distance but don’t get them near me. I’ve had 3 instances of birds being in my house, twice because dogs brought them in and once one fell down my chimney and was flapping around in the fireplace behind the glass. I was so freaked out.

I think most people are at least a little wary of spiders, but my fear is definitely unhealthy. I think living alone has been good for me though, because if there’s a spider, I just have to deal with it! There was one sitting on my couch the other month, and I was in a complete panic. I killed the sucker though.
I also feel very wary in natural water – lakes, rivers, oceans. I just feel like something is going to grab my leg and pull me under. Or eat me.

When Fiance and sleep facing each other, I can’t help but thinking he’s stealing my oxygen, lol. So I end up lying on my back or rolling onto my other side. It’s silly I know, but I can’t help it.
Also a few others that have been said above; birds (they aim for me I swear!), clowns, bees and wasps (I’m deathly allergic) and I won’t go past a certain point if I’m swimming at the beach, the ocean freaks me out.

- Wedding: April 2013 - A court...
Heights. Not really irrational but I feel nervous looking down from the fourth floor (in the mall) lol. I also hate when Dh drives on bridges especially those single lane ones. *cringe*
My lungs/ heart not working. Every now and then i touch my chest and feel my heart beat and think how strong it is and what if it just stops beating.
& a lot of things scare me, I wonder how I’d die in any situation. Final destination style so im really careful about everything lol.

@LeonardLady: Everything!! Their horrible human hands. Their evil donkey faces. Their giant tails. The way they hop. How big they are. And apparently they can be vicious!! Just ask the Australian bees! And they travel in packs!!
One time at a zoo, I saw one hunched over its own tail, stroking it. It was… the worst thing ever.
I can’t believe I just did this, but I just Google-image searched them. Seriously, this is not right!!

OMG I’m like terrified of the dark esp when i’m alone. It creeps me out that someone is watching me and I can’t see anything. Or also being home alone sometime at night, I tend to scare my self because my dog just barks at random things and I don’t go to some of the rooms in the house. Also one of my biggest fear is heights. My Fiance thinks it silly(about the dark and being home alone sometime) but we all have something we’re scared off right?

@atreyu547: omg I know exactly what you’re saying. I’m terrified of heights and everytime my Fiance pass on bridges…omg my whole body tightens up and everytime I look down when i’m so high I feel like my heart just drop and sometime i teared up. lol
