I have hated wedding planning. Okay, well, not exactly hated, but I certainly haven’t enjoyed it to the extent that we women are supposed to enjoy it. Fiance lives in another country, none of my bridesmaids live here, my mom is literally on the other side of the world, and the only siblings I have around to help are my two little brothers. Who wants to plan a wedding with their brothers?? Takes all the fun out of choosing things when someone is standing there rolling their eyes and saying, “Just pick something!!” Oy.
HOWEVER, there have been some moments of real joy in the midst of all the insanity, and I wondered if anyone else wants to share theirs? Helps me to get out of my own head and realize that there are, in fact, some truly happy and special moments in wedding planning! What are yours?
Mine: today I am sitting in the living room with my little brother, putting envelope liners into envelopes while watching Return of the Jedi. Life is good. 🙂

My friends and family weren’t across the world, but across the country.
I talked on the phone some to mom and sister, but not many other people regarding the details.
The details were mine and I enjoyed them FH had a fair amount of input and had good opinions! Other than that I am always shocked that people expect more out of their friends in the wedding. Mine threw a nice shower and bachlorette which I flew in for (and paid), not others, and they helped with nothing else.
I also enjoyed doing simple tasks while watching movies.

I loved finding a bunch of vintage brooches at an estate sale. Even if I don’t use all of them, I know they’ll look beautiful tucked into my bouquet of fresh flowers.

@UK Bride: Because my fiance’s opinion 9/10 is “you know best” or “watever u want”…my little joys have been him actually saying “yea I love that idea”. Simple, i know…but i love it!

We have had so many issues with the guest list and were strong-armed into inviting a bunch of people that we genuinely don’t like… At all. However, there have been some people who have been so completely over the moon that we invited them and are genuinely so excited to be there, that it almost makes up for the drama… Almost.
P.S. The ones who were excited were not the ones we were strong armed into inviting. Those people are just plain rude. :/

I think right now because I don’t see Fiance that much (he works days and nites), my happy little things is working on my DIY while chatting on the Bee.
