@nicolebug geez! a 2,200 sq foot house where I live (SF area and 30 year fixed) would easily be a $3,500 mortgage! If not more, assuming you dont want to live in the ghetto anyway.

@Sagittarius: Irvine sure it expensive but it’s pretty nice here. In the mean time we’re enjoying not paying rent. We sure miss living on our own together though. We’re thinking of moving to Lake Forest once we’ve saved enough. Homes are a bit on the cheaper end over there.

Omg … I just saw that you have to pay pet rent! … you must be living in one of the Irvine company apartments. We used to live in one of the apartments too… We never told them when we got a doggy so we bypassed the pet fees. That’s horrible how much they charge.

This is interesting. I’m totally jealous of the low rent that some of you have! 🙂

Rent:  $1275 – for a small 2bed/2bath OLD apartment in Honolulu

Cable – $0 (discontinued cable and went with NetFlix and an antenna-big savings!)

Netflix – $8

Internet – $0 (bf pays, bless his heart)

Cell Phones:  $200 for three lines – must cut this cost!

Electricity: about $80

Car Payment:  $265.00

Car Insurance: $70

Gasoline:  Hmm, bf pays for my gas anytime I’ll let him, but I’ll say about $80 that I insist on paying

Credit Cards: varies depending on whether I’m paying them to “pay them off” or “paying the minimum”

Food: can’t even keep track. Too much – I seriously need to work on planning menus with healthy, inexpensive ingredients.
