I have a cat named Cheddar and a dog named Waffle.

Cheddar will occasionally get called Ched, or Cheddy

Waffle has a plethora of nick names: Waf, Gooby, Waffel Butt, Awful Waffle, Baby, etc.

Both animals also get told they are handsome boys pretty regularly. I’m way too obsessed with my animals haha.

Not my cat, but my housemate’s cat a year ago was only three legged (missing a back leg).  Because of this, he’d often just drag his butt around the house so we called him scuttlebut.  We also called him Mr Mi (his name is  Miyagi), and the monster. (we’d write notes to each other “I fed the monster this AM” etc.. because her owner worked really long shifts at somewhat unpredictable hours, so we needed to keep track of who fed him)

My dog has a HUGE jaw and we call her our crocodile sometimes.. Mostly I call her babe or Lilybug (her name is Lily).

I have three cats, but aside from shortened versions, only two have legit nicknames.

Banks gets called Creature a lot (or Banky). I’m not sure how Creature happened… he’s adorable and loving as all get out (…I don’t understand that idiom at all. haha)

My parents call my mini-kitty (premature, stuck at about the 8th month size, but he’s about 1.3 years old) Squeaks or Squeakers. My fiance and I have named him Mewbert… it just kind of happened. I call him Mewbert ALL the time… but also sometimes Goose and Monster ^_^

HE’S SO CUTE.

Current Mewbert:

Tee hee.

sunflowers121:  Our neighbors just sort of… adopted a cat (friend gave it to them), and his name is Cheddar! He’s an orange tabby, so it’s super appropriate. It’s really fun to call him Cheddar also (he’s an outdoor cat). I say “CHEDDAR!” every time I see him. He always looks at me and meows and usually walks over to me after I say his name. XD

Omg Waffle! I love that name too! I’d totally name a dog Waffle. My brother and I have this thing with breakfast food names for some reason. Like I named my flash drive is Super Toast, and he named my computer Pancake of Doom… and sometimes he’ll randomly say “Waffle” and grin. … I can only define it as a weird sibling thing. haha
