I think pears can be very pretty, but when I think of/see them I can’t help but think of the episode of Sex and the City where Aidan gets Carrie a pear shaped engagement ring and all of the girls hate it! All she says is, “its a pear” and everyone goes “ugh.” This shouldnt affect my opinion of them but for whatever reason it does!

At first i never considered pears (was more into round or cushion) but after tripto jewellers they were the only ones that stood out! Now i know for sure that’s what i want and that’s saying something since I’m usually so indecisive!

Here is my custom made pear engagement ring which I ADORE. Pear diamonds were huge in the 1950’s so I’m not surprised at the old lady comment. They are making a come-back & they are so beautiful – wouldnt swap mine for anything. An alternative which also looks vintage is the cushion.

I LOVE pear shaped diamonds, if I could choose my engagement ring I’d pick a pear solitaire.  They’re different yet classic.  A bonus is that they face up rather large – standard 1 carat dimensions are 8×5 mm.  (My 1.25 ct emerald cut is 7.4×5.2.)

I bought a CZ pear solitaire and I almost want to wear it instead of my real e-ring!

Pear shaped rings have waaaay more personality and panache than any other shape. Everyone i know has round, princess, or emerald. Im not like anyone else, so why would i want a ring that looks like everyone elses?!!??

I really love pears.  Two of my friends have pear engagement rings… i feel like they are going to be really popular in the next year or so.

I love my pear shaped engagement ring!  I feel that it is so unique.  I didn’t really love any other shapes when I tried on rings.  Its not for everyone though!

I have a pear… with a halo and diamonds around the band… two wedding bands in yellow gold with yellow diamonds (I am getting rose gold with pink diamonds on our ten year annaversity)… I LOVE my pear. It took me a lot of looking at rings but I have always loved dramatic and timeless… I feel that is the pear. Diamonds are beautiful no matter the cut, and are always in style even when the trend in cuts changes. But I think there are certain shaps that are LOVED or HATED and no real middle ground. I like a Marquee, I like an Oval… and I just almost died when I put that pear on my finger… I can’t get into round or cushion, asher and I HATE HATE HATE a princess cut… I also do not like a square or emrald. So my options were narrowed. I always wanted something that was dramatic and I feel my ring has that. My engagement ring and wedding bands are the only jewelry I wear… so I went for something that was “unique” for now. I understand why people don’t like the cut… But I love dimonds in any cut or color… as well as rubies, emarlds, and sapharies. It’s just preference, whatever cut you get I know it will be beautiful!
