I have an amazing cat named Kitty…original I know… She appeared on my doorstep during a rain storm and my Fiance told me we couldn’t keep her but I didn’t to just leave her outside so I decided to take her in….I thought that if I didn’t name her I would get attached so I called her Kitty. Well.. four years later I am still “taking care of her” lol and her name stuck! I love her to death!!

  • Doberman – Rocky (Rescue dog, has a lot of issues, and seizures etc…) Instead of the wimpy name Whiskers…. we named him after Rocky Balboa to “give” him some dignity

  • Pom/Shitz mix – Suzy ( original name, we didn’t find any reason to change it, it fits her personality to a “T”!)

  • Grey Cat – Smokey – becasue he is all grey and smoke in color – what? we just didn’t feel like going through a baby names book!

  • Conure (parrot) – Lapoo – named after the convenience store owner in Simpson’s show, FI’s son couldn’t pronounce it right so “Lapoo” is it!

  • Lovebird – Froot Loops – he is bright yellow and red with some bright green under his wings

  • Finch – Squeaky – Because he squeaks!

My cat is named Miu (like Mew) and then the cats I grew up with are named Tango and Cibella. I named Tango after a cat on Kitty Cats (a Canadian kids show from my childhood haha) and Cibella after a character on one of the Scooby Doo movies. I also grew up with a Border Collie named Sugar who passed away this past August. She’s the reason for my username.

Our dog’s name is Buddy.  His name was Chesney when we first adopted him.  FI didn’t like that name, so we called him buddy while we tried to think of a new name for him.  We couldn’t come up with anything and then decided Buddy was a good fit.

My Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, almost 4 yr old dog (which is actually my family’s dog since I couldn’t take him to my apt complex because of the No Pets rule) is also named Rocky.  When we got him at 5 weeks old, we tried a bunch of different names but loved Rocky on him.  It wasn’t an intentional Rocky Balboa connection, but now my Fiance says that if we get our own dog when we finally have a house, we’ll have to continue the “Rocky” theme and do Rambo or whatever else. Lol.  Rocky totally fits our dog because he’s a little doggy with major macho attitude typical of Chihuahuas.  He’s so freakin cute!!  No one has shared a photo of their pets yet, so I will start! ๐Ÿ˜€  Sorry for the gigantic picture!

My cat’s name is Nuit. We hardly ever call her that, though, we usually just say “Nu”

Klunk. Named after the cat the Ninja Turtles got in one of their comics (my fiance named him). The name is oddly appropriate.

Elwood. My fiance’s name is Jacob (Jake). So Jake and Elwood from the Blues Brothers.

Zeus… which means something along the lines of “ruler of all gods and men”, and that is EXACTLY what he acts like!
