1.) I picked the ring based off of the Tiffany setting. It’s timeless and classic. It’s not a Tiffany replica. But a Stuller Solstice design.

2.) My stone is a FB moissanite. I picked it out because I love the sparkle and the price. I could never afford a comparable diamond.

3.) I chose yellow gold because I have always loved the warmth and glow. Also I’m allergic to the nickel in WG.

4.) I love the prongs on my ring. They are a little special from plain old 6 prong rings.

Custom cushion cut around 1.2C, size 5.75. 18k Yellow gold. Very non-traditional. May get a custom band to fit. Haven’t decided yet.

womanofsubstance:  awww thank you. So now I’m trying to identifying the setting name if it has one abd also track down who the jewellers Hallmark belongs to. I found it once  7mths ago, but they removed the page so I’m starting over from nothing. I really hope I find it so I can have proof and get it included when it’s appraised. πŸ™

Thank you. I think sometimes it looks so non-traditional that people don’t think it’s an e-ring, but it fits my style so I’m loving it :).

sloflin7341: My stepmum’s ring looks a little like this, my Dad got it custom made… she decided to double it up as her wedding ring too rather than having a second band. πŸ™‚

I knew I didn’t care about the size of the diamond because of my tiny hands, but I knew I wanted Tiffany. It just made the whole ring picking process so stress-free as I was sure I’d get a beautiful ring in the end. My e-ring is a 0.68 carat single solitaire princess cut (the angles make my fingers look less round) with a platinum knife edge band. Fiance got it, so I’m not sure of the exact price, probably around $7000.

Sorry for dodgey phone photos!

Mine is platinum, round cut diamond with side stone diamonds.

Just curious, do a lot of people ask to try on your ring or try to touch it? Or ask lots of questions about it? I have the same person repeatedly ask how big the centre diamond is (because she being nosey and wants to make sure she gets a bigger one only) I always say things like “oh I don’t know it doesn’t matter to me how big it is I love it all the same” but she asked me to take it to a jeweller to find out for her :/ that’s weird right? Lol

catherinedarcy:  My sister got a ring with similur specs to mine a few years befor my best friend and I were even a real couple. Hers is a white gold single 1mm band paved with a .86stone in the center its H in color SI 1 Excelent cut with extra facets cut into it and her ring was in the 5,000 Bracket range. I also want to add where we live and our age group that is a mighty heavy size ring. I never thought Id even have a ring so anything real or not would of been A OK in my book ya know? But I ended up Getting my mind blown away when We got engaged. I originally wanted to only spend $200 and I was going to get a colored stone that wasnt as high a cost as diamond. He wanted to me spend wayy more but finally agreed and we settled at $500 (I still wasnt happy as I felt it was to much and he the same as too little) Keep In mind Ive never owned a piese of real jewlery befor my Engagement Ring as well. Anyways, I started looking in pawn shops and online used and he asked one day If I would go to one of his clients buisnesses. (He was a jewler turn out and he also buys and sell antique and vintige, plus estate jewlery, coins and other collectables) So on a whim we went in and found my Engagement Ring. it was over my and his budget (Not that he cares lol) We paid $900 for a signed piece of custom jewlery. My Engagement Ring is a .85 Round center 6prong set diamond with 2 bezel set side stones in a white gold U (or horse shoe as I call it, Im working on tracing the stamp and setting which has no name or other origin at this point) they are all G in color SI1 stones, Ideal cut, eye clean on a 3mm 14k yellow gold band. Im attaching a photo here. So You can see that Im saying you can make her at least hunt like hell a good deal and its belivable, but mine was like a once in a lifetime deal I think!!!! Anyways I have people ask about mine too and some people only ask because they are tied up in their parteners love being shown in the size of their stone (Which is crazy) and when I come across people set to out do me for their own self worth I cut them out!!!!!!! As should you as best you can in this situation. She willl prob always try to outdo you to make herself feel validated. For fun because I dont show it off irl really I attached the photos of my and my sisters rings together. They are not the best photos, but you decide for yourself on my steal of a deal!!! Im sorry shes in a unrealistic compitition with you! That sucks and is uncomfortable! πŸ™                        Im sorry about the lighting in the photos that day it really made the rings ucky looking lol.

catherinedarcy:  Oh and I wanted to add My counceler the other day at our mounthly meeting is so excited Im finally with a great guy and engaged and she loves my ring. So she asked to see it the whole hour we were there together and I let her. It wasnt weired for me with her as shes like a good friend and Ive been with her for 5 yrs, Sometimes my sister ask to see it and I hers and thats ok, but I have strangers ask to see or touch it and people I dont know well and they will ask size and cost and that pisses me off. Its rude and uncomfortable!!!! Its small by Weddingbee standards across all the rooms, but huge where I live at So I always want to know motive. I did read one bees snarky comeback that I use sometimes now when people ask the cost!! Weddingbee said if asked the cost of your ring you can always say “It cost my first born child!” and I use that alot lol! πŸ™‚

I have a 1 carat peach champagne sapphire set in rose gold and I absolutely adore it. It is the most stunning piece of jewelry I have ever owned and pictures do not do it justice! I chose a peach sapphire instead of a diamond because I wanted a ring that was unique and different from the rest. My setting is handmade as well so I feel it really is one of a kind πŸ™‚ The rose gold looks so awesome with the peach sapphire and I couldn’t imagine having a different stone/metal combo. It is pure perfection! The back of my ring has a beautiful fleur-de-lis detailing and it looks so vintage and romantic…very me!!! And I am obsessed with my flower eternity band! At first I wasn’t sure about it but it’s starting to grow on me πŸ˜‰ I hope to add a diamond eternity band on the other side of the flower eternity band for our one year anniversary! Here it is!
