My husband is taking me on a getaway for a couple of days.
It’s a complete surprise. He won’t tell me where. I think that’s very romantic.
I’ve never gone away for Valentine’s Day before so it should be fun.
Boyz II Men sang at your wedding?! That’s amazing!

We have always made it a point to celebrate it with just a nice night out together somewhere that isn’t busy. We’ve done a night at a casino, and the last two years we’ve gone up to the white mountains to go snowboarding, as it’s only $14.00 for a lift ticket on V-Day! Can’t beat that deal.

eurasianbee : I love your nacho tradition! Every single year I’m of the mindset that I really don’t care about V Day but as the holiday approaches I suddenly feel the need to succumb and make date plans, buy gifts, etc.
Now I am thinking of a simple tradition Darling Husband and I could start together that is low key and does not involve getting caught up in commercialism.

Yea love the nachos idea too! Can’t go wrong!! Might even do that too this year. We don’t usually go out on weekdays due to not wanting to leave our dog alone all day. But we’re going to celebrate Valentine’s Day by going to our favourite Himalayan restaurant on one of the neighbouring weekends. I’ll probably also get my fiancé a box of Bernard Callebaut dark chocolate salted caramels. Both our favourite .. mmm

groomsister35 : Yes! I’m sure my recap is around somewhere but we got married on Good Morning America and they were the “surpirse” special guests 🙂

Depends on the temperature. If it’s below -20, we stay home and order delivery. If it’s warmer than that, we’ll go skidooing or quadding 👌🏻

We are escaping winter. It’s been so freaking cold.
We booked a week in Dominican Republic so beach and mojitos for us! Can’t wait ❤️

BEEelegant : I’ve been brainwashed by Hallmark and the chocolate industries so I’m one of those people who feel like the need to do something that day. Otherwise, I know I would regret it. We always go out to dinner but usually at a mid-range restaurant. We do exchange gifts but on a smaller scale compared to birthdays & Christmas.

We are meeting up at Grand Central station after work and then headed to Times Square to renew our vows.

Valentines Day actually falls on Ash Wednesday this year. (Ash Wednesday is when you see Catholic’s walking around with ash on their head in the shape of a cross. It is the first day of Lent and a day of fasting and absence for practicing Catholics. (So, no deserts. Only a tiny bit to eat. No meat. No sex.)
So, we are celbrateing Valentines the day before at Red Lobster.

Loving all the plans!! Big or small – it is just plain fun to get creative to tell your FI-spuse that you love them!!

We love the extra opportunity to eat out and spend with each other! 🙂
We don’t go crazy though with gifts or anything though, generally just food and maybe a movie or something extra cutesy together.. Last year we went to a local Mexican food restaurant because it was Taco Tuesday haha.
