not a fan of Valentines Day. Too commerical & why do you need an excuse like Valentines Day to treat your other half? I can’t think of anything worse than sitting in a packed restaurant on Valentines Day..

Unfortunately, we won’t be physically together this valentines because I am in a long distance relationship. I just went to visit him though for Xmas and New Years and stayed a little longer after and I got an early valentines gift already!! He got me a pair of mini bezel set emerald earrings in rose gold. I love my gift so much and it’s something that I would wear everyday because it’s not too big and literally don’t have to take it off when I shower or go to sleep. Super in love and already sporting my early valentines gift 😂

This will be our 25th Valentine’s Day together. It’s also our youngest daughter’s birthday. She will be turning 6 this year. Her party isn’t until the weekend, but we always go to our family’s favorite restaurant to celebrate each of our birthdays. Lebanese food, so yummy! I can already taste the garlic sauce!

I’ve always loved Valentine’s Day. I don’t really get the whole “I don’t need a reason to celebrate” argument. I mean, can’t you say that about every single holiday? I don’t need a reason to visit my family or an excuse to eat turkey, but I’m not about to boycott the Thanksgiving table or tell my parents to just return my Christmas presents.

My husband and I are very good at showing our love and appreciation for each other every day. We certainly don’t need an excuse. Still, I like having a day where we put forth just a little bit more effort towards being romantic. It can be as simple as an extra long kiss in the morning to as elaborate as we have the energy or budget to make it that year. We’ve ran the gamut from homemade cards to giving birth to a baby (my favorite gift to date). I personally love every opportunity under the sun to tell my man that I love him and couldn’t imagine a life without him. Even if that reason was invented by a greeting card company, I’ll take it!

I’ll be in Spain for work, and in all honesty, I’ll miss my daughter far more than my husband! But I’ll secretly bake a cake for them and hide it in the freezer. I’ll probably go to the Guggenheim, which my husband and daughter won’t miss at all.

My husband and I will postpone Valentine’s Day to a later date when we get a babysitter. A nice dinner will be the extent of it, and maybe that’s when he’ll give me the earrings I’ve been eyeing. 🙂
