When we buy Ikea we stay away from he cheapest stuff mid to higher end only and we like the least sleek stuff. Also I love assembling furniture and it’s a project we like to do together. I saw a meme once “couple who Ikea together, stay together” lol fits us. If you can get through the showroom, the warehouse  and then the assembling part and not kill each other then it’s meant to be lol sometimes ehen we need a couple small things and we have nothing better planned we head over there have some lunch (Sweedish meatballs omg ๐Ÿ˜)  and then walk around and find our stuff.. it’s an adventure. But I have to warn you dont go there on a ny or cold weekend… literaly everyone in the city who has kids heads there I think ๐Ÿ˜’ when they cant play outside.

submart :  I like some things from IKEA but not others. Their quslity is a bit hit and miss. I never leave empty handed when I go there.

I buy lots of their kitchen stuff. Just bought a whole set of Corningwear dinner plates, pasta plates, side plate and bowls. They were 80 cents each and I bought 12 of everything…. Corning wear plates are at minimum 5 dollars each so that was a fantastic deal!

I find their style and aesthetic too cluttered and filled with too many things! I get its about using space efficiently but all I ever think when I walk into their displays is…too much sh*t to dust and clean! I’m not a nicknack person. I like all my objects orderly and organized behind cupboard doors. I don’t need my spices out on a bench on display! IKEA likes to put everything out on display!

My parents used IKEA to do their kitchen. Its great quality but I was so sick of the place after  visiting there with my mother twenty million times during the kitchen Reno process! I get sensory overload at IKEA and I feel like cattle being herded through the store!!! I always have the urge to go Moo!!!

I also think the high chair rocks! I love the fact that you can hose it down because highchairs need it often!

I like their bookshelves, but not much else because I’m not a fan of straight lines. I like curves and swirls and decoration. Straight lines and right angles make great bookshelves but that’s about it in my eyes.

I actually think IKEA is ridiculously overpriced for what it is… you can get much nicer furniture for the same price. Although it is fun to go in and get lost in the store! lol

I have used IKEA to furnish apartments I have lived in. Some of the items are nicer than others. I have some shelves that are nice and have held up well. They were on the more expensive size for IKEA items. My biggest issue is when you move with IKEA furniture. Disassembling it and reassembling it weakens the furniture in my experience. My bed frame really took a hit from moving and only lasted 5 years. My IKEA mattress was awesome for 2 years and then went downhill fast. I do like some of their cheaper kitchen items, like bowls and towels. They really are great for when you are on a budget but I personally don’t expect the majority of the furniture items to last.

I love ikea, it’s affordable and there is good range of quality now, you can get some dinky things but also more durable items. I have also also been know to snag a meal there very now and then ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don’t like the layout of the store as it is like a maze. The meatballs are okay but i don’t understand the fuss over them. It’s good for little things for the kitchen and candle holders etc but going there just stresses me out and that is not worth a few bowls and tea towels. I don’t like their furniture as it is too modern looking and i prefer the solid wood country style furniture that looks more homely and inviting.

The furniture is very cheap and flimsy in my opinion. I would buy things like a cake stand, utensil rack etc. from there but no furniture. I prefer to buy solid, brown furniture which will last me forever.

Well if their crap would quit falling apart, I’d purchase it again and tell you. Unfortunately every single thing that I’ve gotten from there broke within a week. Walmart lasts longer. I was shocked.

Hate it.

I think it’s nice to have an affordable option for college students and people just starting out who may be moving a lot and not want to invest in quality pieces.  And I want to like it because the design aesthetic appeals to me (sometimes – some I found downright ugly).  It photographs nicely,  but in person it looks really cheap and shoddy.  I was really disappointed the first time I went into a store and saw the stuff in person.  There was a couch, dresser, and bed I was considering online and in person they were the most cheap looking pieces of slapped together particle board I’d seen.  There is much nicer stuff to be had with careful shopping.   But if you need fast and convenient it’s definitely an option.

Also, I find the store chaotic and definitely not something I’d want to experience again.  It was miserable.

I love ikea, but I only own a set of glasses from there. There just isn’t room in SO’s place for more furniture, or else I’d buy more. My Ex and I had an ikea couch, though.

submart : I love alot of their stuff, sometimes I think it can look better in a more modern decorated home, though it depends. I really like their accessories. Some of their stuff I feel does look cheaper compared to other stuff, but as long as it’s reflected in the price then all good.
