He gets right up my nose. The more I see of him, the more I dislike him. I tried on a couple of his dresses before I knew who he was, and they were lovely, but I get fed up of the way he tries to dictate his opinion of wedding fashions as the be-all end-all.

He’s not around very much in the UK, but I come across him a lot on wedding sites as most of them are based in the US, and if I have to see his stupid face talking about how awful cash bars are one more time… Have some cultural sensitivity dude! Fine, it’s that’s the way for the US, but have the manners to go “I know in other countries, it’s common to do this, however…”

I used to like him more than I do now. A close friend of mine is a wedding designer in San Francisco and she regularly works on $500,000+ weddings. Her creations are FABULOUS – but she has almost unlimited funds at her disposal with these clients. I feel like if you have the money you can find a thousand David Tuteras. So no, I don’t think he is worth the hype. He also really seems like diva to me and I’ve heard he isn’t the nicest guy around.

I watch his show purely for the entertainment value.  However, it does disappoint me that brides buy into absolutely everything that comes out of his mouth.  He’s a planner and he plans some amazing weddings, but at the end of the day he isn’t the world authority on marriage.  So many brides freak out that they don’t have a theme for their wedding and I blame this squarely on Tutera.  Love the man, love his work, but I wish brides would take it all a little less seriously.

While he produces some lovely weddings I think I’ve seen only one or two that I actually liked. He’s just way too over the top for me. I also don’t like how he just takes over and keeps everything a secret. I honestly think of him as the ultimate bridezilla because he gets to do it again and again.

His show is mindless entertainment. I feel like in real life he’s probably annoying, but I like watching the show once in a while.

While I find his weddings to be beautiful, his recent behavior has completely turned me off.

In case no one knows what I’m talking about…he and his partner are spliting up. Well they just had twins via surrogate and they are literally getting split custody. As in, he gets one twin and his ex-partner gets the other twin. No switching back and forth. Odds are, the twins won’t even know they’re twins for a very long time. Sorry, but that’s beyond fucked up and yeah, I’m judging the fuck out of him for doing that to his children.

@Sweetpeaontheweddingbee7:  If you wanted to try applying for the show, I would say you could. Just make sure to read the contract as carefully as possible! My old manager had a lot of issues when she was supposed to be on Wedding SOS (different celebrity planner, but similar idea). Thankfully, she had a lawyer read and rider her contract, so that she wasn’t screwed over when she walked.

What bothers me the most about him is his utter distaste for budget or offbeat brides and anything DIY. It’s like, oh you poor dear, so broke you have to stoop to making your own decor. Oh you poor ignorant, classless person, thinking your tattoos can show. Oh poor thing, your man couldn’t afford a 3 carat diamond, don’t worry, we’ll replace it for you. I don’t want a giant spectacle of a wedding, but he always acts like anything less is tasteless and unacceptable.

I’ve only seen his show two or three times, and all I can focus on is how much make-up he’s wearing.

i like the events he creates, but with unlimited funds I could create beautiful events too… lol but as a person, he creeps me right out. He’s very “I’m going to stare into your soul and suck it out with my eyes” and very touchy touchy. I would feel VERY uncomfortable if i were to ever be stuck in the same room as him…
