socalgirl1689:  LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread…We went to the best cake tasting place and decided on alternating…. (4 tiers total) of Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Brulee filling with strawberry preserves and the 2nd cake is Hazelnut cake, vanilla bean bruee with apricot preserves. I literally melted a few times with every bite.

We are doing three single tier cakes.  Our favorite of the cakes is ginger with a Jameson and lime infused buttercream.  Our baker wanted to do a riff on our favorite drink, which is Jameson and ginger ale and it turned out great!

We are doing a small cake to cut in almond and cupcakes in almond, chocolate and red velvet! Almond is both of our favorite and red velvet and chocolate went with our colors and people like it!

We’ve got 3 tiers, two of lemon cake with raspberry filling, and one orange cream cake with french cream, all with buttercream.

Mmmm chocolate with salted caramel sounds amazing! We’re having 5 different flavors that are escaping my mind at the moment, but our baker convinced us to go with a vanilla almond cake with raspberry filling as our largest tier because it’s her most popular combination. I was skeptical, but it tastes AWESOME while remaining mild. Some of the combinations we tried were overwhelming.

Ours will be one layer of lemon cake with raspberry filling (fiances pick) and strawberry cake is my favorite so we will have strawberry with a whipped vanilla buttercream filling. I was worried about having two fruit flavors but we are also doing a smores bar so guests can get their chocolate there.

We’re having pineapple cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting.  We’re having a lot of cupcakes too and those are in several different flavors.  I can’t remember them all but my faovorite is called pink champagne.

Ours will be vanilla cake with alternating layers of lemon filling and white chocolate truffle filling with buttercream frosting.  Also having a smaller groom’s cake that is chocolate, with dark chocolate truffle filling, white chocolate mousse filling, and a poured chocolate ganache with chocolate covered strawberries on top.

This thread is making me hungry!

Top layer of our cake was lemon cake with lemon custard and strawberries, middle layer was white cake with strawberries, and the bottom tier was lemon cake with lemon custard. Whole cake was covered in buttercream frosting and decorated with fondant. It was a huge hit. The only lemon cake my family has ever had thay was better wasy mom’s and this one was a very close second. It was amazing!

Our cake will be almond flavored with buttercream icing. It is divine! I had never tried, or even heard of, almond cake before. Where has it been all my life?

Our cake is 4 tiers with 2 flavors. We could of had a third but decided two was best. Our flavors are Amaretto cake (Which is almond) and strawberry preserves with madagascar vanilla bourbon buttercream. The amaretto cake has chopped almonds in it too. The second flavor is Pink Champagne cake with raspberry preserve and champagne buttercream.
