We had three flavors: chocolate mint, white cake with berries, and tiramisu. We weren’t going to save out top tier but we ended up having a ton of cake left. So my maid of honor took the leftovers to a homeless shelter and we went ahead and saved the top.

- Wedding: June 2016 - Poulsbo, WA
We are having two flavors: the bottom tier will be chocolate with salted caramel and the top tier will be lemon lavender! There will be Italian buttercream over the whole thing.

Where I live, the cake/deserts is the most important part of a wedding so..having said that…. the wedding cake is going to be the traditional Almond cake with another tier being Bacio cake. But then we will be having a Pastry chef buffet which will consist of: Served ice cream (vanilla crunch, pistachio and bacio), Pancakes filled with banana and toffee sauce and orange syrup – Bannoffee pancakes, Chocolate fountain with fruit kebabs, Cassata Siciliana, Apple crumble, Black forest gateau, Tiramisu and fruit flan! With those, we are adding the Petits fours!

niki2015: Wow, ur going all out with the dessert 🙂 Do you happen to be from the NY/NJ area? Not sure if this is accurate but I noticed from watching Four Weddings on TLC that weddings in the NE tend to be more lavish with food especially the cocktail hour and the dessert buffet after dinner. Sounds delish though!

socalgirl1689: Oh wow salted caramel!!! I’m so jealous! Our cake place only offered vanilla, chocolate, lemon, fruit & coffee.
We have gone with bottom tier lemon, middle tier vanilla, top tier fruitcake and cutting cake lemon. So its majority lemon which is our favourite flavour! I didn’t want fruit at all as I’m not a fan but my Mum & Grandma love it so the top tier has been ordered exlusively with them in mind!!

socalgirl1689: That’s exactly why we did it. We’re also going on our honeymoon to Italy – so funny.

We’re having a two tier cake with dark chocolate Turkish delight as the top tier and dark chocolate with hazelnuts as the bottom tier. I drool just thinking about it!!!

We’re doing 150 cupcakes instead of a cake. 50 will be an amaretto flavor that my dad was really pushing at the tasting when we were going over details- whatever I get my own personal cake 🙂 Another 50 will be pumpkin spice since it’ll be in November and I figure that will satisfy all the basic bitches haha. The last 50 will be, my favorite, snickerdoodle with apple pie filling. GAH!
I think our cutting cake with be vanilla with raspberry filling so that it freezes well. But I WILL be stealing a snickerdoodle cupcake.

We had a white layer cake with some strawberry and apricot fillings, and we also had a cheesecake with chocolate cake bottom. So delicious! I don’t think there’s a cake flavor that I wouldn’t like.

We have 4 Tiers, 4 flavours. Our baker said 2 tiers are supposed to be the same, but she let me have my way (oh heaven’s I sound terrible!)
– Vanilla with buttercream and Jam
– Fragrant lemon with premium lemon curd and buttercream
– Red velvet with cream cheese filling
– Boozy, very fruity, fruit cake.
Please excuse the pretentious descriptions, they are the bakers descriptions lmao!
I’m also thinking of adding a 5th tier because their carrot cake sounds amazing haha!
The fruitcake will be the top tier, as we will attempt to save it for our anniversary in the freezer (one of my bridesmaids did it and it turned out well!

Ours was almond with huckleberry filling and buttercream! Huckleberries are like tart blueberries and they’re a local treat. We aren’t cake people at all, but this cake was SO good. Looking forward to eating the leftover slices in a few months!
