We’re still working on this, but here is what we have so far…

Groom entrance: Joy of Man’s Desiring

Bride entrance: Cannon in D

Presentation of the Gifts: We Come to Your Feast

Communion: Behold the Lamb of God

Presentation of roses: either Gentle Woman or Ave Maria

Exit: Trumpet Voluntary

We still need 3 songs for the prelude/seating of grandma’s, and a bridal party entrance song.

We’re still working on finalizing things but here’s what we’re thinking so far:

Groom/Parent’s Entrance: Canon in D

Bridesmaids: Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring

Brial Processional:  Te Deum Prelude – Charpentier

Offertory:  The Wedding Song (There is Love)

Communion:  Set Your Heart on the Higher Gifts

*not sure if we’re doing flowers to Mary yet but if so it would be Ave Maria

Recessional:  Wedding March – Mendelssohn

@Garnety:

We’re having the following:

Entrance – The Lord Bless You and Keep You (by John Rutter)

Psalm – Love Devine All Loves Excelling

Signing of Register – Gaelic Blessing (by John Rutter) and My Spirit Sang All Day (Finzi)

Final Hymn – Bind Us Together

Leaving the Church – Gloria (by Vivaldi)

We also want to add in Lord of The Dance is its a hymn we both used to sing at school so will try to work that in somewhere. We’re lucky to have a fantastic choir singing the Entrance, Signing and Exit pieces which will hopefully sound glorious. Advice I’ve been given and experience of other’s weddings is choose hymns people know so they blast them out!

These are the songs we used:

Mothers Processional – Air (Water Music) (organ)

Processional for Bridesmaids – Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (organ)

Processional for Bride – Trumpet Voluntary (organ)

Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 33: God is Love (can’t find the same version of psalm 33 that our church uses anywhere online)

Preparation of the Gifts – Prayer of St. Francis

Sign of Peace – God in the Planning (to the Irish tune Slane) (can’t find the exact song/lyrics online, but that’s the tune)

Communion Song – How Beautiful – I absolutely love this song.

Visitation to the Blessed Mother – Ave Maria (don’t really know which version it was)

Final Recessional – Wedding March (organ)

@Garnety:  We haven’t nailed all our selections down yet, but here are plenty of candidates we’re sorting through:

– “Each Step of the Journey” (Kirner) might be an opening or closing hymn; other possibilities include “O God Beyond All Praising” and “How Can I Keep From Singing”

– planning on using Danielle Rose’s “Holy Family” somewhere (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dgZc9zHfUI) – maybe as the offertory?

– will definitely be including John Becker’s “Litany of the Saints”

– “O Mary of Promise” (Warner) for laying flowers at Mary’s statue and giving roses to the mothers

– the psalm will probably be Warner’s setting of Ps. 128, “Blessed Are the People”, or his Ps. 104, “Send Forth Your Spirit, O Lord” or else Marty Haugen’s Ps. 118, “This is the Day”

– other possibilities for preludes, seating the parents, etc., include Schubert’s Ave Maria, Sibelius’ “Finlandia/This Is My Song,” “You Are Mine,” “Wisdom, My Road” (Barnhart/Warner), Handel’s “Largo” from Xerxes, Telemann’s “La Grace,” Warner’s “May You Cling to Wisdom,” Warner’s “Arise, My Love,” Warner’s “Song of Ruth”, “Christ, Be the Word,” “Set Your Heart on the Higher Gifts,” “Holy Manna,” “A Iosa Mhic Mhuire,” “Magnificat,” “Hallelujah, My Father,”

– Recessional might be “Ode to Joy,” or “Highland Cathedral”

(Let me know if you would like any more info about any of these pieces.)

Prelude: Litany of the Saints (I used a version written by my choir director…I wish it was more well known because it’s the most beautiful version I’ve ever heard)

Groom/Parent’s/wedding party Entrance: Beloved by 10th Ave North; just the piano

Bridal Processional:  Trumpet Voluntary (ironically, played on the piano)

Psalm: 128

Unity Candle: Wherever You Go

Offertory:  Set Me As a Seal by Matt Maher and Audrey Assad

Communion:  Panis Angelicus

Flowers to Mary: Ave Maria Vavilov (Cacinni) version

Recessional:  Ode to Joy (piano only)
