I got him a tooled leather pocket book that had a picture of me in it with a saying that is special to us and our wedding date. He got me a card made out of one of our wedding photos and wrote a super sweet note in it.

My husband got me an anniversary sundial that sits on the windowsill and makes rainbows in our family room whenever the sun shines on it. It was made especially for us and has a special date line that the time shadow follows on our anniversary day each year. We’ve had it for several years now, and it is fun to see the shadow gradually get closer and closer to the line each year as our anniversary approaches! Now our kids like to play in the rainbows on the floor – I think it has got to be one of the best anniversary gifts ever!

We went out of town for the weekend to Seattle.  Stayed in a nice hotel, did some lovely dinners, went to a MLB game and did lots of outlet shopping.  Darling Husband got me this diamond necklace as a gift and I paid for his shopping at the outlets.  He didn’t want a ‘gift’ as there wasn’t one particular thing he needed, but he did need some new clothes so it worked out well.

We went away for the weekend to a local winery. Our overnight package included a massage for me and a round of golf for him. I didn’t realize that he was getting me a gift until the last minute (I had though the trip would be our gift) so I didn’t have time to get creative. I just got him some golf stuff to use on our trip.

He did better and got me a sentimental gift. He had one of our engagement pictures with our dogs turned into a puzzle and had “Our First Family” printed on the bottom of it. We’re planning to TTC soon, so that makes it extra special. It’s going to be one tough puzzle to put together though!

My husband got me an art deco-y sapphire and diamond anniversary band for our upcoming anniversary, mine and our son’s bday month, and ‘push’ present.  September is a pretty big month for us.

I am 35wks pregnant, so for his present, I’ll give him a baby? =P

I’d love to share a really sentimental and one-of-a-kind first anniversary gift idea with you tha blends the idea of the modern (clock) and traditional (paper) gift ideas and allows you to dedicate an important day to your loved one. It’s a really amazing concept and worth checking out.

First post!

Hubby got a vasectomy. I joke the paper themed gift was the receipt.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving. 😉

Today I booked the grand suite of a posh hotel for 2 nights with dinner, spa and champagne. I am so excited to spoil my dh! It’s paper for the first year so the printout of the booking details will do. It’s less than a month to go. I have also organised a photo shoot with the photographer who did our awesome engagement photos.

My brother gave my sister-in-law a sketch of her wedding dress.  Since paper is the one year. It was perfect. We had one created for our wedding day. Their artists are so amazing.  We have all been pleased with the final piece. http://www.weddingbee.com/wedding-vendor/dreamlines-llc
