When we had our first date, I remember sitting beside him in the restaurant and thinking "wow.  I didn’t notice he had such blue eyes before".  We talked for a long while, and he was so damn intelligent and interesting.  Before dinner was over, the butterflies in my stomach were taking flight!

After that we went and saw a movie.  During the movie, he put his arm around me and I got shivers up my spine!  I never thought I’d feel that again.  But I did.

After the movie, the goodnight kiss was innocent but enough to make me melt as he walked me to the car.

That was our last first date we’d ever go on again.  Rest history.

We met at a Greek event in college. He was in a fraternity and I was in a sorority. Our groups were forced to exchange greetings. He shook my hands and smiled the most mesmerizing smile I’ve ever seen. Our first covnersation was focused on food, food and food. We both enjoyed the same types of foods. He asked for my number but wasn’t able to save it since his cellphone was dead. I took his number down instead.

A few days later, I called him up and asked for his IM screenname. I knew guys weren’t phone friendly. Anyways, after a few weeks of non-stop flirting, we finally went out for our first date.

He took me to a late lunch at our favorite noodle house, then to the park. He practically memorized everything about me–he knew I loved going to the park at night. We played on the swings and talked. Then he drove me to the beach where we proceeded to freeze. He held me in his arms to warm me up. I was trying to chase some baby birds and when I looked at him, he pointed to the sand where he had drawn a heart.

Since then, we’ve been inseparable. We have a 60-mile distance between us, but it hasn’t stopped us.

He was a friend of a friend who I always thought was cute, but shy and kind of awkward. Finally one night, I noticed how funny he was. He was wearing aviator sunglasses, an old "Shalom" t-shirt and had great hair, and when he asked me to sit in his lap, I couldn’t resist…

He’s still pretty awkward, but now it might be my favorite thing about him. Sigh.

His sense of humor! I’m usually so shy around people when I first meet them, but Mr. J put me right at ease.  It was like we were old friends right away– and he had me cracking up all the time.  It was (and is) the greatest feeling 🙂

His icy blue eyes took my breath away…..literally. I couldn’t concentrate on anything he was saying to me….when I finally caught my breath,  I couldn’t believe how intelligent and hilarious this man was and how much we had in common!!  I joked with him and asked him where he’d been all my life….he replied "waiting for you"

The man still takes my breath away……..

First appearances: he is quite handsome and dresses extremely well. I deeply appreciate boys who actually care about what they wear. He pulls off pink WAY better than I do 🙂 I saw a picture of him in a sweater vest with a tie and button down looking like a GQ model before we met and knew he was something special.

But in terms of personality, he challenged me intellectually, which was extremely refreshing. We started off our friendship with lots of political and philosophical debates.  I thought I was good at debating, but he put me to shame 🙂 He also has a similar sense of somewhat sarcastic, cynical humor. I was told my freshman year of college that I was "intimidating" because of a combination of my sense of humor and intellectualism. Rather than placing me in the "one of the boys" category because of this (an issue I had often run into), he thought these were great qualities in me. He also has the most serious moral compass of anyone I’ve ever met. It can occasionally be frustrating, but it’s amazing how staunch he is in his convinctions. It’s certainly made me a better person.  And finally, he was not at all afraid to be silly. One of our favorite things to do was go and hang out on the boardwalk in Santa Cruz, making sea lion noises (with the resident sea lions). He gave me a stuffed sea lion for our first Christmas together.  We had a lot of ridiculous, funny moments together.

The first thing that got me was his personality, he was so much more confident and mature than all of the guys I’d been seeing, even though he’s the same age. But, the take-my-breath-away-he’s-really-hot moment came on our second date, mountain biking, when he was casually riding some section of trail that I was staring at and thinking was really difficult. For general appearance, his most attractive feature is his wonderfully thick dark brown hair.

What first attracted me and made my head turn…I’d say her smile and the way she laughs.  She’ll do something goofy and laugh a laugh that is so contagious, it just captures the room’s attention.

First date and first kiss. She actually invited me on a first date to a company social event and we were the only ones there representing her company.   It was a dinner and silent auction.  Overall a pretty boring date.  anyway, we got back to her place.  We basically talked till 3am and by then i was super super tired but I made myself vow not to leave without kissing her for the evening.. after i ran out of things to say and to avoid that weird awkwardness, I just went in, pulled her in by the waist and planted one right on her..she ended up falling back..slamming into the wall and holding the kiss..  afterwards, i said good night and went home .

This is a good section. My dear can dance! We danced for hours when we met and made a date for the next day for the Baltimore Zoo. The Zoo was just opening for the season, so mind you in was freezing here in Baltimore.

We walked around the Zoo for hours like it was a summer day. He was so sweet the whole time, held my hand through the park and we took tons of photos. Then went to eat at at a local Mexican place in Hampden. After that it was like clockworks and we did everything together. Fishing, hiking, visiting friends, festivals everything!

He’s great!

I think the best word for it is to say it was his confidence. We met when my roommates, bf-at-the-time, and I went to the game room in our UC. He was down there with his roommates (this was the first week of college, when you do everything with your roomies cause you don’t know anyone else!), and we all just kind of hung out. He was funny, smart, and so cute! And he was completely unafraid to act like an idiot, which is great! As we left he made some smart-alec comment and I flipped him off, he retorted with "when and where?" Not romantic, but it made me laugh! And it *really* pissed off my then-boyfriend, because he claimed "he really meant it!" The then-boyfriend repeatedly told my my FH just "wanted in my pants" but I guess he was wrong! ^_^
