Gabriel- which I’ve always loved but it’s my nephew’s name. Joy (another name I love) but it’s my younger cousin’s name.

Firstly the names don’t even sound the same. More importantly  nobody is going to confuse infant boy Justin with adult  woman Justine. Or infant girl  Lucy with adult mother Darcy.

I dont really  understand the concept of being ‘unable ‘ to use names because someone else in the family is called that name anyway. At worst, people have to say , ‘I mean Darcy’s  Lucy , not Sally’s’

Go ahead and call your children  by whatever name you like  ( so long as it not spelled L’oosee or Jyustynnn!)

Love the name Meadhbh!! (or the more english spelling – Maeve, as I definitely understand the struggles of having a Gaelic name in a non-Ireland country haha), BUT my sister has always loved it as her number one name and I wouldn’t take it from her. Just like I hope she wouldn’t take my number one pick!!

Also love James but that is FH’s brothers name so we just dont feel like we could do it.

We like the name Richard, but it’s my brothers name. Brothers middle name is James which is our sons name (it’s a family name) so if we used Richard for a second child we really would be using his whole name

I like the name Kennedy but it’s my ex’s last name, so that just seems weird. I also like the name Georgia, but my fiancé dated a girl by that name, so that would also seem weird.

Jayne, spelled that way because I just like it, but my stepdad’s ex-wife was named Jayne and she spelled it that way, too.

I used to really like Adeline and at the same time my sister liked Adelaide and she told me I couldn’t use that name because there couldn’t be two Addys. She was in high school and I was in junior high, lol

So many.

Alessandra, Lily, Dominic, and James are the primary ones.

Sebastian and Benjamin are now out due to associations with people I met in the past 6 months.

I wouldn’t pick the same names as my sister and my sister in law because we do see each other regularly. And I wouldn’t pick my mum’s name because she specifically asked me not to. That’s it.

How are lucy and Darcy too similar? Name your kid what you want.

theres a family name I’ve always wanted to use even though im not sure about having a baby, it means a lot to me so if I have a kid, I’ll use it. My cousin already used it, and I don’t care. My sister and I both want it, we agreed we both can use it, we’ll make it work.

George as my sister is going to use it. It’s a family name for her. Her husband’s dad died last year and that was his middle name.

Violet, as my husband doesn’t like it

Yeong-cheol. It sounds really funny with my husband’s last name. There was also apparently a cannibal serial killer named Yung-cheol.

Lily and Luna, but I had a dog named Lily and a cat named Luna. It would be weird to name my human baby after a pet I had.

I also have always loved Sophia, but it’s just too popular.

I’m a high school teacher so there are at least 35 names a year I could never name my child 😂
