I was born and raised Catholic.  I don’t attend church anymore, but I still do believe in God.

Fiance doesn’t believe in God whatsoever.  He thinks a big joke.

I was raised Lutheran (ELCA) as was my husband. I guess I still consider myself a Lutheran although I don’t go to church or anything.

Honestly my belief is that there IS a god, but that not a single person on earth understands him. I think all of our religions are trying, and they are probably all failing. And I don’t honestly think that he cares what you are, or if you follow some rule about what to eat or what to wear or who to sleep with. I think that whats important is being a kind and generous person. The rest is all details.

I don’t practice any religion at the moment.  I was raised Catholic, but I was never confirmed because I missed an hour of community service when I was in elementary school. The only way I could be confirmed was to take all 5+ years of CCD classes over again, or wait until I was 18 and take a year of adult CCD classes.   I never really felt connected to being Catholic so I didn’t end up doing the classes and getting confirmed.  I’m definitely spiritual, I believe there’s some higher power out there, I just don’t know exactly what it is.  The religion I’ve felt the most connected to would be Wicca.

@GreenEyedMoon: Agreed… Christian is believing in Christ, which both Christians and Catholics do… Catholic is a denomination of Christianity. Protestant and Catholic aren’t the same but they’re both Christian. I’m sure you have Catholics voting “Christian” because it’s first on the list so that’s where they’d put themselves.

@jillmatt: My beliefs are very similar to yours. I think religion is a beautiful thing, but feel like I am not being fully truthful if I say “I’m a Christian.” I think whatever religion (or lack of) works best for the individual is the right way to live, as long as no one is getting hurt.

I think being a good person, respecting others, and doing the right thing in the face of adversity is the real truth behind it all.

My husband would say he’s a Christ Follwer.

I was raised Catholic.  DH was raised Methodist. Neither one of us are involved in our churches. I’m not sure how we’ll raise our kids.

Catholicism, Protestantism (ie, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian etc) and Orthodox are all branches of Christianity. I think some might be confusing non-denominational Christian with overall Christianity.

I was not raised under any religion although technically my grandma and village are Christians. Husband was “raised” Catholic.

    I selected other.

We both believe there is something up there but who knows if it’s God, Jesus, Buddha, Allah, what have you, etc.

I am agnostic, Fiance is atheist.  We were both raised Christian, but his family is more the church-going type than mine.  I sort of toe the agnostic/atheist line because while I don’t believe in a “god” (definitely not in the organized religion sense), I do feel like there may be some energy (for lack of a better term) or some unexplainable force out there…  I guess I would say I’m more “spiritual” than Fiance, as he is a pretty hardcore atheist.

Raised Catholic but no longer attend Catholic Mass or church at all.

I just consider myself Christian because I believe in God, Jesus etc…

I still follow some Catholic practices though;  volunteering and doing charitable causes,I still pray to saints when I need help with certain things, and try to practice Lent lol
