I live in a housing development in what used to be a rural area. However, it’s in city limits and I am only minutes from downtown. I have the best of both worlds…a nice quiet neighborhood with the city only minutes away.

I live in a village. My house is surrounded by fields. Just down the road is the world’s largest collection of adventure mazes…aka, more corn. I’m pretty much a card-carrying country girl, haha.

    Manhattan 🙂 I’ve never lived in a house or had a yard…

I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, but I grew up in the country.

    @ danadelphia

I’m with you exactly. We live in the city now, like it a lot, but vacation and want to own a place in the country. Grew up suburban my whole life, but don’t like the ammenities there.

I live in the suburbs.  I’ve lived in the city before though, and I love that the most!  I don’t think I could ever live in a rural area.  Wide open spaces kinda freak me out. (I know, I’m weird).

I love where I live!  I have a nice size back yard with a tall white fence for my two dogs.  I have great neighbors but they aren’t 1 feet away from me.  I have shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants and all that 1 mile from me.  And the two major hwys are just a couple miles from me as well.  Plus, if I want to go downtown its a 20 min drive.

@Blueshoes: Nah, that’s not weird at all! I have a friend who lives in Philly and he’s terrified of the country. He once asked if lightning bugs could bite. I practically died of laughter.

I’m in the DC suburbs. I would love to live in a city, but not DC. It’s way too expensive! I just went down to Charlotte, and would consider living there. It seems like a fun place!

I live in what is for Kentucky a large city, but it feels like a giant suburb to me!

I live in the middle of a gigantic sprawling city.  However, I come from a very small village which is actually known as a ‘bedroom community.’
