And what actors would you pick to be the characters?
I would love to see J.D. Robb’s In Death series as a show. I love those books! But I have no idea who would be really good to play Eve, Roarke, Peabody and McNabb. I was thinking of the guy from White Collar to play Roarke, but that is all.
And I like the Anita Blake series with out all the sex stuff in the later books, but I guess that is what HBO is for.
I’m interested to see what you guys come up with!

Yeah I’ve read them! I liked them better than the Blue Bloods series.

I second the Anita Blake series minus all of the sex. It becomes very tedious after a while and the first few books were great without it or at least without it being the main focus. I don’t know who I would pick to play the characters though. I would also like to see some of my favorite young adult books by Tamora Pierce become a series. I am not sure anyone would do them well and might make them too childish, thus ruining my favorite books from my childhood.
I was very happy they made George RR Martin’s books into a series though. Game of Thrones is awesome.

Tana French’s mystery novels. She’s got three and all three would need their own movie for sure. If you’ve not read her check her out! She’s an Irish crime writer that is up there with the Stieg Larsson set in my book!

The Hunger Games!
These books may be YA but they are a MUST READ! So good!
I’m also really excited for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, I’m just afraid they’re going to do it wrong.

@alh5051: I LOVE Tamora Pierce! Soooo good!
Another one I just thought of is Holly Black, would be really amazing if the creator of Avatar picked that up.

I’ll have to check out those series. I’ve heard a lot about the Hunger Games, but haven’t read them yet.
The young adult books I liked were L.J. Smith, V.C Andrews, and Christopher Pike. I know they turned Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle from L.J. Smith, but My favorite sereies from her were Nightworld and Dark Visions, I would love to see those too.
I also like the Hannah Swenson baking/mystery series by Joanne Fluke. But I don’t know if they would translate well into a series.
Of course the books will always be better.

I’d like to see the Stephanie Plum series turned into something (Janet Evanovich). I heard there’s a movie coming out but that Katherine Heigel will play Stephanie…which in my opinion is the worst possible choice for that character. It actually may be enough for me to skip the movie all together.

OOOH The Flowers in the Attic books! I think it’s called the Dollanganger series. Those books were creepy but hard to put down!

@Mary Green: I think there’s an older movie called that? I’m not sure if it’s from the books.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093036/
Found it there. I didn’t see it but some friends said it was the weirdest movie ever.

I would love for them to make good movie versions of the So You Want to be a Wizard series by Diane Duane, the Enchanted Forest books by Patricia C. Wrede, and the Tales of the Otori books by Lian Hearn.
I really hope they do a good job with the Hunger Games. I want so very much to like the movies but I’m afraid they’ll be a let-down.
I was royally pissed off at how terribly they botched The Golden Compass. There’s two sequels that will never see the light of day on the silver screen.

@linguo42: I’d love to see So You Sant to be a Wizard turned into at least one movie or miniseries. I’m afraid if they go past that it would get messy (like the one with the whales, I forget the name but it could go very cheap or just weird)

@MissComicBook: I have heard great things about the Hunger Games. I think this confirms that I have to try them out. I also love that the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is coming out. The Swedish version was really good, but I am loving that Trent Reznor is doing the music for the US movies.
