Hi Bees! I’m looking for floor-length, classy bridesmaids dresses. My main complaint with bridesmaids dresses is that they often look cheaply maid and are nothing anyone ever wants to wear again. I’m not looking to break the bank (dresses need to be under $350), but where do you suggest I look? I’m not thrilled with the quality of the brands you find everywhere, so wanted to see if there are any more unique suggestions.
Thanks!

I liked some of the Alfred Angelo and BariJay dresses I saw in store. Bridesmaids ultimately picked Alfred Angelo.

I gave my girls free reign to choose which designer they wanted. Ultimately the all ended up loving gowns by Bill Levkoff.
Also, have you checked out J Crew? I’ve seen a lot of brides purchasing dresse from there recently.

I took my girls to Alfred Angelo. It came highly recommended. Every style dress comes in every color. I chose the color but I told the girls they could pick any dress they wanted. I wanted them to be able to wear it again.
Dresses ranged from $79-$189.
Dresses looked great on the girls. I would highly recommend.

We did Ivy & Aster dresses for the girls, with custom beaded belts. Bridesman wore his own tux. 🙂

We will be going to david’s bridal as they are the only place in my area to get bm dresses without travelling 2+ hours.
I am paying for their dress so I’m not concerned about them wearing them again.. infact I plan to sell them unless they want to keep them for some reason.
Both me & my girls are interested in the Vera Wang bm dresses.

I like JCrew and Lazaro’s bridesmaid dresses. However, my bridesmaids couldn’t afford Lazaro’s dresses (I only asked one for her opinion) and JCrew didn’t have the sizing for all of them. They wore Bari Jay. BCBG makes bridesmaid dresses. They don’t have to be a “bridesmaid dress.”

@gelaine22: I love the Lazaro dresses! I’m currently in love with this one, which is a Jim Hjelm, but I have no idea of the cost.

My girls wore Donna Morgan. I believe they were a little over $200, and we purchased them from Nordstrom. This is the color they wore, but it comes in other colors.

@TroubadourTango: David’s Bridal. I thought they looked very nice and the quality was just fine. They are wearing it for one day and so I think it’s fine. The gown (ballgown) I wore in a wedding is still in very good shape. I’m not sure what kind of quality you are looking for. While the dress is one I would wear again, I would have no where to wear it to again. If this is the case I would not worry so much about it. The only bridesmaid dresses I’ve seen, In My Humble Opinion, that might be worn again are the ones that are knee length.

@TroubadourTango: We’ve ordered from the Affairs by Mori Lee collection. Mine are short, lace dresses. They’re some of the nicer dresses I’ve seen and they were under $200 for the short ones (that’s in Canada too)

All my girls got dresses under 150 but I was not involved in buying them so I don’t know brands…
