I forgot about the dog food! We buy Nutro Naturals Grain-free Limited Ingredient Diet Venison Meal and Potato Formula. And only that. If we give him any other kind he gets very sick.

I’m having a lot of trouble thinking of anything that I won’t get generic/store brand if I can. Cat food, I guess. Actually, the Aldi knockoff of Cheez-Its has a little bit of cayenne or something in it that is fantastic. Fiance is waaaay more brand loyal than I am, so most things that I buy the name brand, it’s because he prefers it.

Danone yogurt or Activia yogurt ( whichever is cheaper). I also only get the full fat version.

Pampers. Huggies and every other brand suck.

Coca Cola Zero. Yum!

Dempsters ancient grain bread. My fav, and totally worth the 4 bucks.

Babybel cheese. ( My son actually springs for this, he’s not even 2 yet, but he puts it in the cart! Expensive taste!)

the only thing I buy name brand is Coke and Cottonelle tp. I used to only buy name brand pasta sauce but I always add alot of spices to it. I have found some store brands that taste better and need less spice added to it

@cbee: BUNNY PASTA! I love Annie’s mac and cheese, those white cheddar shells are soooo good!

-Adam’s natural peanut butter

-Tillamook cheddar cheese

-I’m kind of a jam and salad dressing snob (I don’t have a specific brand, but I tend to spring for higher-end products Embarassed)

My peanut butter must be Jif and my cheese must be Kraft – the store brand cheese is not as soft and since I’ll eat chunks of it by itself I taste a huge difference.

I tend not to pay much attention to brand. I pay much more attention to things like country of origin and ingredients. Meat especially, because we have higher standards for farming than many EU countries. There are a few things (eggs, produce, dairy) that I buy a specific brand because they are local.

In the US, I’d buy Wegman’s store brand over just about any name brand, TBH.

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny I am totally cracking up about the Sams diet coke thing…I totally agree and had no idea till a few weeks ago… BLAH!

Diet Dr pepper

Toilet paper

Trash bags (I’m weird, I know)

Bath soap

But I, indeed, wait and watch for these things to go on sale them buy em 😀

And FYI ladies… it you can’t stand something off brand…try a few stores. Not all off brands are the same Tongue out Wink I actually prefer off brands in a lot of items….

@TankGirl: I agree about some of the Aldi brand items. Their mac n cheese is just as good as Kraft. The only off brand mac n cheese that is actaully good. We also buy our chicken from there since I only eat chicken breast and it is usually cheaper there.

I was thinking about this and its less brand than ingredient snob.

I wont buy peanut butter that has anything but ust peanuts in it. So no Jif, no skippy etc. I do like the Organic Costoco PB a lot though, but I will buy others depending what store I am in.

Nothing with HFCS in it, so that eliminates a lot of juices (100% only when I do actually buy them) and jams etc.

There has to be a minimum and maximum fiber and sugar grams in any cereal I buy

That sort of thing.

Just about everything I get brand name except canned or frozen vegetables and milk.  But I recented tried store brand canned pineapple, and I’m switching back to Dole.  Other musts are Hellmans Mayo, Heinz Ketchup, Honey Maid graham crackers, and this isnt store brand vs non – but no non fat or reduced fat or sodium anything
