I couldn’t decide between the Medela Pump In Style Advanced or the Medela Freestyle. I ended up with the PISA because I heard it was just slightly more powerful. When I was very engorged, even THAT didn’t feel powerful enough, so I’m glad I didn’t get the smaller hands-free one.

Also, maybe consider moving this to Babies because those women have probably all already used one?

I use the Medela PISA and have no complaints.  I have used my sister’s Medela Freestyle quite a bit  and it’s nice that it’s light and portable but the suction is definitely not as strong.  If you’re going to be pumping a lot (either EP or pumping at work) I highly recommend the PISA.  I also think the sound of the PISA is less obvious then the freestyle!  Medela parts are very easy to come by – can find them easily at BRU, BBB, Target, Walmart.  That has been ncie when I’ve been out and forgotten something!

Daizy914:  I have been using the medela pump in style advanced for 4.5 months since my son was born, 2 of those months back to work. I have no complaints, it does its job well. As someone else mentioned I love you can get replacement parts anywhere.

Medela pump in stylE advance. The one that comes in the tote. I had to exclusively pump for a while and even pump multiple times a day while transitioning from Bridesmaid or Best Man bottles to only boob.

i loved It.

Glad to see so many people happy with their PISA – that’s what I’m planning to order through my insurance in about a week.  I have a choice between that and the Ameda Purely Yours.

Medela PISA. It worked as well as any breast pump should, I just really disliked pumping.

Daizy914:  I have 2. I leave the Medela Pump in Style at work and I have a Medela Swing at home. I have a long public transportation commute and I hate carrying a ton of bags with me so I leave one at the office. I used to pump more at work (I just stopped pumping a week ago) so it made sense to keep the “heavy duty” pump at work. It worked out well.

I used the Ameda 6 times a day for 9 months with zero problems and great results!  Had enough stored to get me through 13 months.

Research open vs closed systems prior to deciding.

I use the Medela PISA in a tote bag.  I love it.  I had an Ameda Purely Yours and I hated that thing.  Only ones I’ve used.

I have the Medela Swing. I used the hospital’s Medela symphony? while I was there then pretty much the second day I was home I sent Mr TF out to get a Swing. It’s great anyway. People do really go on about pumping. so much so that I expected it to be horribly disastrous and LOUD but it’s totally fine.
