teamroro :  I hear Shiba’s have an almost cat-like personality. Would you say this is true?

This is Simba.

He is a mix of jindo, sharpei, and shih tzu. We adopted him from a korean rescue, they bring dogs from korea that are kept in a slaughter house for eating ๐Ÿ™

chitownyogini :  It’s a mixed bag.

The primary way that Enzo is catlike is that 95% of the time he does not GAF about pleasing anyone but himself. He’s very independent and really dislikes being restrained in any way; kennel, collar, harness – all hates. Also, he is pretty particular about where you are allowed to give him pets. He hates water and is a pretty picky eater. Also now that he’s heading out of his puppyhood, he does like to sleep a fair bit.

But he’s not as fastidious as we expected based on stereotypes. And he likes pretty much everyone. And loves other dogs. He loves riding in the car and long hikes. Fetch is a favorite.

I would say Shibas are just more independent minded than other breeds, rather than being “catlike” per se.

Mine is  a Havanese.

Here is my little Corazon (Cora) with her first haircut , just a puppy crop which is all I will stick with I think.  I think she looks adorable, as  do everybody’s babies in this thread.

She is due for desexing in  a couple of weeks- of course it is not an option  NOT to do it but I  dread subjecting that healthy untouched little body to anaesthetic and  scalpels ….

Scrolling through to look at others , I see I have already posted in this thead . …. sorry not sorry lol

This is our beautiful BEAUTIFUL German Shepherd Lilly Bug. Sadly we had to re-home her because we found out my Son was allergic to her. My heart still breaks as I miss her so very much. So I had to include her.My daughter was so sad with having to re-home our darling Lilly Bug, I went on the hunt for a little non shedding pup that could fill our home with doggy love. That is when we found this little guy… Bailey our sweet Schnoodle (part poodle, part schnauzer) He is so wonderful and we love him dearly.

I love guessing breeds! My guess are….

Rocky: boxer/great dane/malinois cross (He reminds me a lot of Marmaduke! So that is why I am pretty sure great dane is in there. The colouring/marking/energy levels/ whip tail and muscling all point to boxer! And I think the ears and more slender body and the fact he is short haired (apposed to scruffy if he was mixed with a different shepherd) come from Malinois.

Enzo: black lab/german shepherd/pitbull or terrier (fox or rat) He is a bit more tricky. He looks a bit like a big scruffy basenji but his tail doesn’t curl. He definitely has a shepherd body, face and coat length but hes smaller than your average shepherd. I am thinking black lab because of his colouring. And pitbull or other terrier for the size and the fact his head is a bit wider. Fox terriers have 2 coat types, one of which is a wirey coat. So depending on how wirey Enzo is… he might have a bit of that in him.

I also have a mutt .. but you wouldn’t be able to tell which one!

Rook… hes a boxer. He is my OG… My first doggo

Next is Poncho! He is the mutt lol He is 7/8 german shepherd and 1/8 rat terrier. He is on the smaller side of german shepherds but he still weighs in at 75lbs and it slightly taller than the boxer.. by about half an inch or so. He is a mamas boy.. which is funny because he is technically my BFs dog. He is more sensitive than the others and loves his cuddles. He is literally my shadow and follows me around everywhere. His favourite thing is helping me garden (aka stealing any weeds or shrubs I pull out and running away with them) and chasing his jolly ball or soccer ball… he thinks hes super cool when he can catch it in the air… which ok.. he is.. I will give him that lol. I would say he has the most balanced energy levels but can play for literally ever.

And last but not least. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (aka Wesley, Wesslebutts, Mr.Cheeseburger, WesleyShark). He is a blue fawn french bulldog. He is our itty bitty lol but keeps up with the big dogs. Poncho is his playmate of choice and they love to run around the backyard playing tag lol. We ended up getting him because I noticed my boyfriend ate the corn bread he said I could have and I texted him being like “THATS IT WE ARE GETTING A FRENCHIE” (he didn’t love the smooshie faces lol and now they are his favourite). And we were joking around and anyways that weekend we ended up getting an impromptu frenchie
