In a few weeks, I will be starting my wedding gown search in NYC! My sister, who is also my Maid of Honor is coming out to help with the search. I couldnt be more excited, since I have been waiting since July(when we got engaged) to start! I keep reading that its really hard to find places that allow photos. Its really important that I be able to do so. because 1. My mother wont be able to make this trip…and I want her to be a part of the process. 2. I have a horrible memory…and pictures would HELP! haha. Can anyone tell me what salons allow it…or what your experiences were like?

I took pics at Pronovias, David’s Bridal, and Lovely Bride (where I found my dress!).
Kleinfeld and RK Bridal don’t allow pics unless/until you buy the dress, but Kleinfeld has a webcam setup so you can show your mom in real time. I recommend a trip to RK even though they don’t allow pics (read the Yelp reviews before you go).
I have also heard wonderful things about Gabriella, but most of their dresses were out of my price range.

I second the Lovely Bride (which really is a lovely place and I highly recommend visiting!) – they let me take pictures and Skype with my sister while I was in multiple dresses. RK Bridal and Kleinfeld will let you once you buy the dress. Also, the White Gown in Brooklyn will let you take a pic of one dress, so once you pick your favorite, you can take a pic.

@hardtoconcentrate: Ok thank you! I was planning on heading to Lovely…but also heard that RK Bridal has a wide range of dresses. Perhaps I could sneak a few pics anyways. hehe

My Maid/Matron of Honor took tons of iphone photos while no one was looking-secretly sent them to my other out-of-state Maid/Matron of Honor. Flash would probably be a no-no, unless they give you an ok.
