I’m 43, and even though I wish people in my life were more supportive of my choices, maybe I can share a little perspective.  Got married when I was 19 to my high school sweetheart.  Had the “big” wedding, families argued over who paid for what, and guess what?  I barely remembered a thing.  Fast forward 9 years, and my fiancé and I decided to run off to Mexico and get married.  Best thing we ever did.  No pleasing anyone but ourselves!  No huge expenses!  No worrying about what so and so did because we did what pleased us!!

Do what pleases you, forget about what everyone else thinks you should do or, for that matter, what you think everyone else should do!  Remember what you’re doing and who you’re doing it with.  If you’re trying to please someone else or keep up with someone else, you will both be disappointed!

The dollar amounts of gifts that some Bees receive. I don’t subscribe to the “cover your plate” philosophy, but the median amount that couples/families gave was nowhere near the cost/head. Even the max. dollar amount we received was nowhere near what I’ve read on WB. Sigh…

I’m definitely jealous of the bees who have grooms who are very helpful.

Not sure if I get jealous per se, but seeing pictures of bees that are travelling (for vacation, honeymoon or wedding) makes me feel very determined and motivated to save every little dime I can for a honeymoon and vacation!

Some of the places in photos are simply gorgeous and look incredibly exciting to go see!
