I was an active user here several years ago under a different username. I was in the process of planning my wedding to my ex-husband. I’m now living on a different continent and I married my new (wonderful!) husband in August of 2019. I just made a new account to get my dose of girl talk I guess 😂

Came here when I was planning my wedding (no account, just lurked), stayed for the advice and life tips! It is also nice now to chime in occasionally, upvote comments I agree with lol, and provide some input that may help future brides.
I really like the wide variety of topics here- it is so much more than just wedding planning. I’m also an etiquette and advice column junkie (one of my favorites is dear therapist on the atlantic) but I like the forum setting here where everyone gets to comment and give advice/support.

- Wedding: September 2021 - Australia
With corona going on I’ve felt that there’s an element of hesitation with many wedding-related things. People’s jobs are asking more of them for the same or even less money, and generally, it’s just not a fun time for a lot of people so if I’m honest, I’ve felt bad talking about my planning much to friends, so I was hoping to find like-minded people to talk to about everything wedding so I don’t just word vomit whenever I speak with my friends, haha!
For example, I want to go dress shopping because things are starting to open up again here – there has only been 1 case per day for the whole of my state for quite a few days in a row now, and I’m worried if I wait too long there will be major delays resulting from a huge rush of orders all at the same time since the shops have been closed. I would, of course, want to do this safely and I don’t want my mum to feel pressured to attend since she is over 75… there is always the risk of a second wave. But on the other hand, this could go on months and leave me unable to get anything in time.
I really want to share this experience with her… but instead of telling her what date I’d like to go and there being only excitement and joy, there’s a lot of apprehension and concern and I do almost feel like maybe even a hint of disapproval like I’m doing something wrong.
So, it’s so lovely to come here and see what other people are doing and feel their excitement, since I almost don’t feel entitled to that in real life.
I’ve loved seeing peoples’ dresses and rings and hearing about their themes and plans, and everyone seems not only nice, but helpful!

I was just looking for advice and to chat about things. I have a real close group of girlfriends, and we talk about everything, but sometimes you just need advice from others, so that you are told what you need to hear and not what you want to hear and vice versa.

I came in 2013 for help getting a ring from MoCo. Came back in 2019 for guidance on getting one from Tianyu, as well as planning my second wedding. Came back again in 2020 for yet another Tianyu ring. I’m mostly sticking around for the rings, but I enjoy voting on wedding dresses and whatnot too.

The ring porn and checking out the beautiful dresses! I also find that although based in the UK, I’m quite a fan of the wedding trends from across the pond!

I only found this site after getting engaged and researching wedding sets so I think I’ve only been here about half a year? Definitely stayed for the drama too that’s for sure!

Found the website while googling for signs he is proposing soon. Stayed because of all the great advice and beautiful rings.
