I ditto the idea of an all around sparkle sash. You have to remember when it’s altered it will fit you like a glove and then imagine it with whatever hairstyle/veil/jewellery combo you’ll be wearing. I think it’s a gorgeous dress and I like the little bolero you have too, super cute!

I’m finally getting closer to having it all together for my wedding… but I still feel like my dress looks “off”. Here’s a picture of me in the dress, sash and lace jacket. Sorry about the sweaty face and jacked up hair. It’s been hot here.
I like the overall look, but… I’m not crazy about the sash. I know as a plus size bride, one size fits all is not necessarily true. I feel like it might look better if the sparkle continued all the way around.
Thoughts? I’m open to suggestions– my dress hasn’t been altered yet (which will fix the neckline being too high) and won’t be until September, so I’ve got some time to gather ideas!
ETA: Budget is a concern. I’ve seen many gorgeous sashes on etsy, ebay, etc… I have a little more money to spend on my attire ($50) before alterations, and then I’m maxed out!

Hi! I agree with @AmuseMeMusically that the neckline is too high. Otherwise, I think it looks beautiful! 🙂

I love the sparkle and the fact that it draws attention to your waist! The whole thing looks really great on you :).
That said, I agree the sash would look better if the beading went all the way around. If you look on Etsy, there are a lot of places where you can have the beading extended for a couple extra dollars… here is one example: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89496260/bridal-beaded-sparkly-crystal-wedding?ref=sr_gallery_14&ga_search_query=sparkle+sash&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_explicit_scope=1&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=all
I just went to Etsy and searched “sparkle sash” (technical term? lol).

I agree about the sparkle all the way around. I love the lace too.

I would say either sparkle all the way around or no sparkle. I think it does look off and looks like it was too small.

@naturalysam: What looks too small? The bling?

oh my god i think it looks perfect. even your hair! i love the sash and the jacket 🙂

I think you look great. What about a sash that has a larger, but more centered area of sparkle? Like this:

I think what you might be seeing as “off” is the fact that the sweetheart goes up too high. Also, the pickups seem to be laying strangely. They’re creating this weird horizontal line effect. They probably just need to be steamed, though.
IMO, the belt is fine as-is. I’ve seen lots of brides where the sparkle doesn’t go all the way around the belt.

@EffieTrinket: Totally– I ordered it from DB online and it’s been sitting in the box for 2 months. It’s a wrinkly mess right now! There is a halter strap that I’ll be removing that is making the neckline look weird, and yes, it sits way too high right now, which also looks odd.

You look amazing!! Love the lace bolero and I think the sash looks perfect. No need to purchase something else – honestly. The earrings (are those pearls?) look great too!

@spfrost: Awww, thank you. Those are pearls, but I’ll be wearing these (link – earrings only, not the necklace) on my wedding day, as they match my e-ring!

I love it! I think the sash looks great and draws attention to your waist. The sparkle all the way around may make you look wider than you are. I do not think you need to change a thing.

You look so lovely!!
I would go all the way around with the sparkle, too, if you can. But I also think the alterations are going to make a big difference – bringing the neckline down and nipping in the bodice.
Can I ask what kind of foundation garments you’re wearing? You look great and I’m having a tough time figuring out my lingerie situation, hehe.
