Darling Husband and I will be TTC in 6 months and I know sperm take 3-3.5 months to develop etc.
Are there any supplements Darling Husband should be taking to help his swimmers out and be the best they can be for when the time comes? I’m taking a prenatal now for the folic acid, just wondering if there is something guys need to have high levels of to make sure baby is not at risk of any defects where it can be prevented.
Darling Husband is 41 in a few weeks and I’m 38 if that matters. If we are successful it will be a first child for both of us.

How exciting!!! Thats awesome you’re going preparing yourself for a healthy pregnancy. As far as your husband I don’t think I can contribute anything only to Google it. I’m a Googlin’ fool!!! I Google everything I need to know and need to know NOW!!!
Hopefully you’ll have some bee’s give some suggestions that have been helpful for the father’s of their babies. For the health of your future child I hope your husband is willing to be as healthy as possible. There’s nothing like being a parent and I wish you well.

@Ill Be Mrs B: Thanks Mrs. B!
I have googled a bit, that’s where I got the whole sperm taking 3 months to grow info! I read a little about zinc, and it being important the male is taking zinc if there is a deficiency but on the whole it is pretty hard to find info on this one compared to what things I can take.
There were some other things mentioned but they seemed to be mostly about trying to sway the gender of the baby, whereas we just want to do what we can to have the healthiest baby we can at our advanced ages 😉

just today i bought a couple of multivitamins for mens, supposed to increase sperm quality and all that. But the main thing Ive read is that the health life changes you’re doing (no alcohol, exercise, eat well, no caffeine), he does as much as poss too. Gl to you!

yeah….the no alcohol/no caffeine will not fly…I can probably get him to cut back a bit though.
Thanks and GL to you too!

here’s what my Darling Husband did: started taking l-carnitine, coq10, royal jelly; stopped using laptop on lap/cell phone in front pocket, cut out caffeine, cut out all canned foods, added walnuts into everyday day. these things combined made a significant difference for us (as we had fertility tx and multiple SAs, so we saw the numbers change.) good luck!
