I’ve never heard of registering separately for a shower, but I guess I’d start with is there supposed to be a ‘theme’ for the shower?

Sometimes it’s kitchen/household or lingerie, but I’ve never really seen where they get mixed together?

I would register for all your bed linens, kitchen linens and bath towels you’ll need.  I’ve moved 54 times in a military family – trust me – you can use that stuff to pack other stuff.  That should help with the numbers.

For kitchen items, any sort of storage set if you need it will be useful and often plastic so not hard to move. Same with baking pans, they aren’t very heavy and you can pack other things inside them.

Little stuff you will always need like shower curtains, liners, and hooks are always needed no matter where you move.

Hope that helps!

Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

Even department stores like Macys and Kohls have some decent lingerie. And the bonus is that they also  have household goods. ๐Ÿ™‚
