Probably going with a white sapphire (unless she wants to change it) so money isn’t really an issue as far as size goes, but she’s got such a tiny finger that I’m wondering what size would work best? I’d love to see some pics on a 3.5-4.5 finger if you petite ladies don’t mind. I was thinking something along the lines of a .25-.5 carat equivalent. Her finger is just a little bit under a 4.

It’s definitely personal preference. I like bigger rings so mine is 1.75ish. My ring size is a 3. Personally, unless she’s expressed desire for a dainty ring, even though her finger is small, I’d go for .75-1 carat.

I agree with PP – a 4 is a pretty small finger, but .25 would look really dainty. You can look at http://www.diamdb.com/ to see what size would kind of look like on her finger. You just put in the shape of the stone, carat size, and the size of her finger and you can see the approxiamte finger coverage.

I have a 2.6 ct diamond on size 4.75 – it’s perfect for me.
Its really personal preference but I think 1ct is the benchmark and between 1.5-2cts would be awesome if she wants finger coverage.

I know a lot of people love big stones (I drool over them too), but for me, I liked the way my .31 carat looked when we went to look at rings! I’m a 3.75-4 ring size.

Mine is 0.94 carat on a size 4 finger. I kind of wish I would have gone with the 1.5, but I think between 1-1.5 is the perfect carat for petite fingers. 🙂

i have a 0.41 carat on 3.25 finger. In my opinion it’s the perfect size!! People have even commented on how big the diamond is because my fingers are so small!

I have ~ 3/4 carat on a size 3.75. My fingers are small, but I wouldn’t call them super tiny. I liked the way a 0.5-0.75 carat centre stone looked with a halo setting.
Please excuse the red and dry hand. Canadian winters. 🙁

I have a 0.5 ct diamond, I think it suits my size 3.0 ring finger well. I do think you can go up to .75 without the ring seeming to overwhelm her finger though. It’s all about finger coverage.

I have a .25-.3 ct diamond solitaire and I absolutely love it. We don’t know the exact carat size because it is an heirloom stone, but I get so many compliments on how dainty & classy it is. You could always have it set on a pave band if she wants a little bit more sparkle! I wear a size 5 for reference.

I’d probably go with .5-1ct (unless she’s said she wants a small center stone). Here’s my 1ct equivalent (moissanite) on a size 4.5 finger.
