here’s a couple pictures of my 1.5 carat enhanced moissanite. My band is real diamonds, but we saved so much $$ on the stone!! I’m a size 6.5 for reference so I think the larger stone would be huge on your hand…if that’s what you’re going for, do it!
just make sure you get the enhanced moissanite, there’s a big difference! 🙂 hope this helps!

I think you should go to a jewlery store and try both on, find out what one looks better on your hand then decide.
I personally really like the idea of a moissanite. I would like a 1-1.25ct ring and it makes me sick to think of the price of a real diamond. It also makes me even worse to think of losing a diamond of that price. I am a klutz I loose things all the time, I can not imagine what it would be like to go home and tell my SO that I lost my $5-10k ring.

The price differences are so close for Moissanite that either stone is fine. The actual difference for just the stone alone assuming its a Charles & Colvard certified Moissanite is really only about 100.00+ at retail or so. here is an example here.
At the amount vs the 16k you were mentioning, it really all comes down to how it looks on your hand. We recently sold a 3 carat princess cut moissanite and the lady loves it on her hand. Its all about what you want….its your ring after all. Enjoy and best wishes for your Marriage.

@DeathByDesign: Congrats on your ring! It’s beautiful!
I personally think that diamond or not, they’re all stones. All the gorgeous gemstones (diamonds included) are just a bunch of minerals. I understand that diamonds rank highest on the mohs scale but other than that, all stones are just as beautiful as each other. I can’t honestly tell the difference between a CZ, white sapphire, moissanite or diamond. I think everyone should go for what they like, all stones are beautiful!

Who cares what people think. Get the ring of your dreams whatever that may be 🙂
