When I wasn’t on birth control, I had that problem after rough sex, but it would go away after a week or so. I honestly have no idea what causes it though. Maybe the roughness tore the sides of the vagina a little? *clueless*

my dr said mine was from particles of eggs breaking away and attaching themselves to my ovaries.  Then a week before Aunt Flo comes in, Cousin Dot visits for a week.

i have this sometimes too, but mine is always bright red. my doc said it can be normal, but you should be checked out to make sure. i’ve also had the dark brown spotting, and my doc said it was cervical mucus and also normal.

still, go get tested just to make sure!

Could you be pregnant?  I spotted between ovulation and the expected day of my periods, when I was pregnant with my son.  It was very brief (like a  couple of days), and just stopped on its own.

Ummm, I was on a low dosage of birth control…after about 6 months of being on it I started spotting. Turns out that my dosage was so low I had no lining in my uterus and I had to be put on a higher dosage of birth control. I would check with your doctor to see if that is your problem.

I second the cervical mucus. My doc told me that fibers along the inside of my cervix can sometimes get irritated during intercourse and cause spotting. He did give me a PAP to make sure I didn’t have any signs of cervical cancer and it came back negative. He said if I was really concerned, we could be “more gentile” while doing the deed, but it’s really nothing major so if we’re not bothered by it, we can just keep on at it….

Honestly I think its best to go see the doc…just for peace of mind. Its probably nothing to worry about, but its good to know for sure.

That happened to me when I had implantation bleeding when I was pregnant. But, it could be any number of things the other bees have mentioned. I think your doctor would have the best answer!

Like it was said see a doc for sure.. But you could be preggo.. Spotting is just the egg attaching to the wall .. something like that.. Also this happens to me with more rough sex, but mine is usally more of a bright red. Hope all is well πŸ™‚
