Just a fun question…growing up, what childhood movies were you afraid of? For instance, I was terrified of the movie Dumbo. The clowns scared the crap out of me and it was very sad…I hated it as a kid!
What about you? What kids movie were you afraid of or hated as a child??

I used to have a recurring nightmare about the evil queen from Snow White. That movie scared the crap out of me!

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I had it in my head that it was a really scary movie that was intended for adults. No idea why. Those oompa loompas don’t help whatsoever.

@Rouquine: oh that’s a good one…I think I was more afraid of Willy Wonka than the oompa loompas haha!

I somehow managed to watch both Aliens and Night of the Living Dead when I was like 10 and found them to be terrifying…hahahaha
ETA: Forgot my Fiance has this hilarious (for me, not him obviously…haha) story about how when he was little his aunt accidently taped the creepy killer clown movie “IT” over a copy of children’s singer Raffi in concert and he watched it. He is freaked out by clowns/spiders to this day and tells this story a lot. I feel bad but he tells the story so well I can’t help but laugh every time!

ET. I was confused about the beginning and end, so it freaked me out. I didn’t realize he was getting left behind, then I didn’t get why the kid was sick and dying too.
That, and Jabba The Hut really freaked me out. Not the rest of Star Wars, just good ole Jabba.

Pinocchio & Dumbo always scared me, and I still refuse to watch either of them. lol
My dad also let me watch Pet Cemetary when I was younger, and I used to have nightmares about it. Just the thought of the old man getting the back of his foot cut makes me cringe.

@Rouquine: Willy Wonka didn’t scare me, but that strange boat ride sure was odd.

@kkish3: He definitely came off creepy.
@Mrs. Bear Cheese Pie: I remember that scene growing up. I think that’s what did it.

We weren’t allowed to watch the disney Hercules when we were little because Hades and his little minions would have scared us.

@Mrs. Bear Cheese Pie: Oh my word, ET freaked me out, too! I couldn’t understand why they both got sick and the whole house quarentine at the end. I was so confused and scared!

I was afraid of the movie Poltergeist, especially the clown scene. And it didn’t help that I heard that the girl who played Carol Anne died of Reye Syndrome (sp?) so then I was afraid to take aspirin. Double whammy.
