My aunt made me and my sisters watch that movie when we were little, and it was the SOLE reason that I then proceeded to only brush my teeth while sitting on the bathroom vanity for like 3 years.

@nambi_pambi: I was totally freaked out by this part too. I loved that movie so my older brothers would have to tell me when that part was coming up and I would leave the room and then come back after she did her weird face thing haha
There is another movie called the watcher in the woods that we used to always watch at sleepovers that would scare the crap out of us.

I’m still terrified of Spirited Away. I can’t watch it and never could, even though I wasn’t that young when I saw it…

The dark crystal. Then I watched it again 30 years later – not really all that scary.

@Blue-ginger: I told my SO about how reepy I thought those vulture things were, and the noises they make to eachother, and of course now he makes that sound to me all the time to be a creepo.

@Miss Otter: OH. MY. GOODNESS!! Same for me. And they had the nerve to show it to us in school, no less. Needless to say, I went through a solid 3-6 months of thinking that ET or other aliens would land in my backyard, sneak up the stairs, and come into my room to take me away.

Does anyone remember the made for TV, this really happened movies? They were usually on broadcast (non cable) channels on weekends? Well, we watched one, I was probably in 4th or 5th grade, where this guy killed his wife. The police went to the house, and they sprayed this solvent all over the bedroom, that turned trace amounts of blood a different color. When the turned off the lights, the solvent could be seen where the blood traces were turned bright neon green. I went to bed that night, and got up a few hours later for a glass of water. I walk into the living room, and look at the VCR, which had a green LCD display, and SCREAMED!!!!!! Still hate green LCD’s to this day.

Chuckie my cousins forced me to watch it 🙁 I was extra nice to my American Girl doll for awhile after until I locked her in the attic (with a nice bed and pillow) and hoped for the best. She’s still there lol

I love love LOVE Labryinth, Jareth was my first kiddy crush, but the scene when he’s in owl form trying to get into Sarah’s house while the goblins ran and hid always scared me as a child. The most disturbing movie for me hands down is Watership Down. I watched it once as a kid and still remember bloody rabbity….horrible movie.
