When I was like 7 or 8, I somehow managed to watch “Chucky”.  I was terrified that my dolls would come to life and kill me so everynight before bed, I “fed” them, changed their clothes and tucked them in this doll crib I had.  I would put them in there in a way that if they moved at night, I would know it in the morning.  I really thought that maybe if I took good care of them and treated them well that they wouldn’t kill me! LOL

Also, the movie “Mommy Dearest” didn’t help either!

Another one that got me was “Arachnophobia”–I HATE spiders!

I think just about every horror movie scared the jeebus out of me.

I destinctly remember Hellraiser, freddy & chucky though.

Thinking of it, I was super young at the time, why the hell were my parents letting me watch those?!

I always fast forwarded past the part in Bambie when his mother dies…. it always scared me and was so sad.

My dad let me watch pretty much any movie I wanted so I grew up watching rated R scary movies (not movies that were R because of “adult” scenes).

But the part in Willy Wonka where the kid got sucked up the tube in the chocolate river used to freak me out…probably because I don’t like being squished in tight spaces.

I hated when the witch’s feet curled up under the house after it fell on her in Wizard of Oz.

But the one movie that to this day scares the living shit outta me is “Puppt Master”. Dear god, that was the only movie that ever gave me nightmares (and remember I watched every scary movie. i.e. Jason, Freddy, Michael, Alien, Predator, etc). My dad thought it would be funny to scare the piss out of me one day and added it to my instant que in Netflix…I opened the que and almost died. I was like “holy shit!! This damn video is coming back to haunt me! omg, omg, omg!”. I realized it must have been him and he just laughed histerically when I called him. Yeah, real funny.

@kkish3:  i was terrified of clash of the titans. we were at a hotel once when i was a kid and the medusa scene came on when my grandma was channel surfing. i don’t know why that scene was left on the tv as long as it was but i had nightmares for years!

other movies that creeped me out were “the watcher in the woods” by disney, and the chucky doll movie. i had never seen it but some kid at school had and told me about it. i was scared of dolls for a while after that! haha

oh and bambi ..that music right before the mom gets shot haunted me forever!

I had nightmares for years after watching Jaws. And I snuck into the room one night when my parents were watching Cujo and he was trying to get into the car. Terrified doesn’t describe it!!! There was something about the Neverending Story that gave me the creeps too.

Ursula from Little Mermaid scared me, but I kept watching because it was my bff’s favourite movie. Never ending story freaked me out because the concept of “forever” was too massive for me to handle.

I watched all the “grown up” scary movies – chucky, nightmare on elm – and they were fine. But now I can’t handle anything scary or gorey. My FH picked the movie on a date one time and it was Law Abiding Citizen. He didn’t realize how freaked out I get, and thought it would be fun. I went for a walk part way through the movie and couldn’t sleep for weeks.

Oh gosh, this thread. Just about every movie mentioned on here was a “no” for me as a kid. E.T. in general. Dumbo’s “pink elephants on parade scene” has been listed somewhere as one of the scariest scenes for a kid. A lot of Jim Henson’s stuff got me sneaking into my parents’ bed at night: Dark Crystal, Labrynth. Honestly the tunnel ride from Willy Wonka still creeps me out a little.

@Cote1590:  +1 to all of these!

I never even saw Edward Scissorhands, but I probably saw a trailer for it or something, and always pictured him walking up our entry way coming to get me 🙁

@kkish3:  Ernest’s Halloween. I watched this when I was 4 and the snotty troll who turned kids into little wooden dolls in his tree freaked the bejesus out of me lol.

But parts of dumbo freaked me out too! The part where he gets alcohol or whatever in his water and starts hallucinating scared the crap out of me.

I was a very scared little child, i was affraid of lots of movies. lol. The Wizard of Oz scared my stiff – particularly the munchkins. haha. oh, and the flying monkeys. Willy Wonka – although I find the new remake to be much more scary! Alice in Wonderland scared me a little. Anything that was particularly “fantasy” like, a little bit weird…
