Am I the only one more excited about shoes than a dress? I have no clue what type of dress I want and I’ve been all over the board with shoes. My fiance is much more a traditionalist and I think would prefer me go with ivory shoes to match the dress I get, however, I’m determined to find some beautiful, sexy, fun shoes for my wedding day that he’ll love.
Our wedding is really an elopement in the smoky mountains with just he and I. He really wants to wear a tux and I want to go more casual. I’d have loved to wear my cowboy boots, but he hates them. I wanted red pumps and he thinks that it looks hookerish. So I was thinking of ice blue when that was our wedding colors. We now are coming back and hosting a nice formal dinner at our fave rest. for about 30 or so family/very close friends. I’m hoping he doesn’t stay w/a tux and I can get a casual dress, maybe not even a wedding dress, something summery and ivory. So the venue is cream, red and black and now I’m leaning back toward red shoes. He seemed to like the satin look wtih ankle straps more than the patent leather very high heel.
Oops, sorry for the long post/rant. Show me your shoes!!! I’m interested to see what others are doing.

Here are mine! To be honest, I didnt even ask my Fiance. I just bought them and he could have cared less when I showed him….then again I have an insane shoe & handbag obsession so to him, it’s just ANOTHER pair of shoes that I own. lol

@IUrebekah3RT: +1. I’m sure whatever you get he’ll like or likely not think twice about. Who knows – he may end up finding the red pumps sexy!
i went for neutral sparkly shoe

Mine are pink, but you won’t really be able to see them under my dress.

Just ordered mine today! I can’t go too tall bc #1 my dress is only too long by about 4 inches and #2 Fiance is right at 5’10” and I’m 5’6″. It doesn’t really bother him or me when I wear high heels and end up a little taller than him, but for our wedding, I wanted to (at most) be eye to eye 😉 My colors are based off of a peacock feather and there are a lot of royal and cobalt blues tied in with my wedding (BM dresses, guys’ ties, etc.)
TaDa!!

And the Smoky Mountains, huh?! I live in Knoxville and go up to the Smokies frequently – especially when I just need to get away and take in some beauty. GREAT choice! 😉

@SweetMelissa429: I almost bought those! But I decided they were too high for me (I almost never wear heels).
Here are my shoes:

I went red! They’re a darker red, though. I originally bought a pair of Badgley Mischka peeptoes on sale and then realized I had some peeproes in that exact color and the exact height already. So I wore the shoes I already had. In contrast, the groom wore $200 shoes in a decidedly more bold color.

Aaaand I have like no good shoe pictures from the wedding. Here’s a “behind the scenes” shot:

@BeachBride2014: You have great taste, my dear! 😉 I would actually love to go higher, but I don’t want to be hovering over FH haha! And I love the ones you decided on..the color is so pretty!
