My house was built in the 80’s and has that lovely yellowy oak. I’m in the process of painting them and am second guessing my choice. I got the rustoleum cabinet transformation kit in Espresso and am afraid that it’s too dark now. I didn’t want to go with a lighter brown because I all wood trim right now and didnt want it to clash being so similar. So, if you were redoing your bathroom and could have any color scheme, what would you go with? Pictures of bathrooms, especially anyone that used the cabinet transformations welcome!

I’m a sucker for white cabinets- so classic. Especially in our case because we are apartment hunting and all of the ensuites are on the small side; any darker colors would probably make the room look even smaller.

pinkshoes: We just finished our whole condo reno by doing the bathroom. We have white cabinets, dark grey (Kendall Grey) walls, floors and shower are carrera marble with Cloud White trim and brushed nickel hardware.

I didn’t vote because I couldn’t decide between chocolate and espresso without seeing the difference in a picture. Too lazy to Google. But all my cabinets and wood floors wll be a dark color. I just don’t like lighter color wood or white. I just love the richness of dark wood.

I’m a sucker for gray. I would love to do our cabinets this color but our whole house has the standard wood trim instead of white, and I haven’t convinced myself to paint all of it yet lol. I think it looks kind of odd when just a few rooms have white trim, sigh.

Westwood: My house has the wood trim and matching wood doors too!! They previous owner had painted the trim white in 2 of the rooms (the dining room and living room). It’s actually not that odd to have different rooms with different trim. I’ve been debating if I want to take the task on too, but it’s a BIG task for sure, and then what about the doors? White trim with brown doors??? oye. I think those grey cabinets would like nice even with the grey trim though with the right wall color! I love that grey, but it’s actually my wall color already!
IzzyBear: I gravitate toward the wood color too, but I see so many white cabinets now… even these votes is for majority white. I’m a little worried that the dark browns will look dated very soon (not that I should care as long as I like it since we don’t plan on selling anytime soon)… but it a still a close second in popularity behind the white right now.

Eh, I’m a huge advocate for doing what you love and not worrying about whether it might look dated eventually. Odds are, it will. Look at all the pink/blue/green bathrooms from the 70’s. Look at all the colored carpet and wallpaper from the 80’s. Right now the huge thing is granite/marble/quartz counters and I’m sure those will go out of style by the time our kids are buying houses. It’s the way of life haha

White is typically my favorite for bathroom and kitchen cabinets!

- Wedding: April 2013 - A court...
Anything that’s not white, black, or light brown. Either a nice dark/ medium brown or gray- I’m not too picky.
